C/O: Human Resources
I read your job posting for a Construction Superintendent with interest. I am confident that I have the skills and experience you are looking for. I am a journeyman carpenter and have hands on experience in all areas listed as self preformed work and more.
I am an accomplished Project Superintendent/Project manager with more than 23 years of experience in various types of construction; from complex remodel jobs to complete new construction including site work. A strong work ethic, team building and attention to detail are my main strengths. I pride myself on bringing projects in on-time and within budget. Additionally, I am computer literate and have experience with most major construction-related programs and Microsoft Office. Attached is my resume, which details a few of the major accomplishments in my career. The list of projects is only a small sample of the construction jobs I have managed.
Due to the slump in the economy, I was laid off from my previous position. I have spent the last several months remodeling my house, waiting for business to pick up. It is now apparent that the recovery is taking longer than expected and I will need to look for employment elsewhere. Consequently, I am looking for long-term employment with an established, growing, forward-looking company. I also enjoy travel and do not mind assignment out of state.
I would welcome the opportunity to further discuss my skills and this position. If you have questions or would like to schedule an interview, please contact me by phone at 517-625-4064 or by e-mail at m.bertrang[at]yahoo.com. I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Matthew C. Bertrang
