Construction Value: $52.5 Million
Mr. Rodriguez was a support inspector for a two-year project that provides needed capacity enhancements at the El Dorado Hills Wastewater Treatment Plant by construction of headworks modifications, new DAF, new equalization system, new filters, new UV system, new secondary effluent pump station, new reservoir effluent pump station, modifications to return activated waste pump station, modifications to recycle pump station, new administration building and maintenance building, two new 1,000 kW emergency generators, two other new process buildings, new sludge handling facilities including new flare, digester, and biofilter odor control facility, and yard piping and electrical controls.
U.S. 50 / MISSOURI FLAT ROAD INTERCHANGE – Placerville, CA
Mr. Rodriguez was construction inspector for this bridge and roadway project funded by both the El Dorado County Department of Transportation and Caltrans. He performed oversight of roadway construction, dry utility installation, concrete sidewalks and driveways, installation of multiple storm drain systems, and inspected concrete structures per contract drawings and specifications. The project used Caltrans procedures. Mr. Rodriguez also documented changes in field conditions and unforeseen issues and closely tracked related costs. Additional duties included field measurement of actual construction progress, generation of calculation sheets to support monthly pay estimates, and inspection of storm drain pollution prevention work.
WHITNEY RANCH DEVELOPMENT – Rocklin, CA
For three years, Mr. Rodriguez was the primary construction inspector for the development of a 2,000-acre residential community that consists of 2,500 home sites, a 40-acre park site, a 90-foot pedestrian bridge, a community center, and a high school. The project also included over 5 miles of sewer line, 6 miles of water line, 7 miles of storm drain line and 8 miles of roadways, as well as street lighting, traffic signals and a bridge structure. Mr. Rodriguez’s duties included attending weekly meetings with the city engineer, assistant city engineer and resident inspection staff to provide weekly updates, look-ahead schedules, and to discuss field issues; performing contract administration; generating well documented and measured punchlists to both city and contractor staff, and following up punchlist walks as required. He also provided suggestions to better clarify several items within the recently updated city construction specification manual.
TWELVE BRIDGES DEVELOPMENT – Lincoln, CA
Mr. Rodriguez was construction inspector: providing construction administration and inspection services for the development of 4,000-acre residential community consisting of 3,362 home sites ranging from high density, medium density, village commercial and commercial, an employment center, a school, a fire station and a park. The project also included over 7 miles of sewer line, 10 miles of water line, 5 miles of storm drain line and 10 miles of roadways, as well as street lighting, traffic signals and concrete box culvert structures.
CITY OF CITRUS HEIGHTS CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR – Citrus Heights, CA
Mr. Rodriguez was construction inspector performing inspection of multiple private developments and public projects for conformance to contract drawings and specifications. Duties included inspecting installation, backfill and final testing of water, sewer, and storm drainage facilities, sidewalk ramp projects, hot mix overlay projects and striping operations. He provided community outreach and ensured maintenance compliance and safety compliance. He issued encroachment permits and provided inspection of permit work in franchise areas. Administrative duties included daily reports, monthly progress payments, contract time statements, and labor compliance interviews.
AMADOR COUNTY PUBLIC WORKS – Jackson, CA
Mr. Rodriguez was construction inspector/engineering technician for capital improvement, subdivision, hazard elimination, and safety projects to assure conformance to contract drawings and specifications. He inspected new road construction and asphalt overlays of existing roads, and oversaw multiple projects that upgraded water, gravity and forced sewer, and storm drain mains and their relevant appurtenances. He also inspected a water treatment plant, decant tank and filter vessel. Additional responsibilities included approving certified payrolls and performing employee interviews to assure prevailing wages, scheduling material sampling and testing for contract compliance, performing speed surveys, setting traffic counters, issuing encroachment permits, ensuring safety compliance, providing community outreach, and performing administrative duties as assigned.
ON-CALL CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT AND INSPECTION SERVICES – El Dorado Irrigation District – Placerville, CA
Mr. Rodriguez was construction inspector for multiple subdivision and commercial projects. Inspections included water, sewer, sewer force mains and all related appurtenances. He was also responsible for testing all water and sewer systems, including ball flush, mandrel, air test and follow-up televising of sewer gravity mains. Mr. Rodriguez inspected pump station facilities, private fire services for a commercial building, bacteriological sampling of water systems, and punchlist work. Administrative duties included daily reports, project progress updates, and submission of required documentation to facilitate District acceptance of project mains.
DEER CREEK WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT – El Dorado Irrigation District – El Dorado County, CA
Mr. Rodriguez was project inspector for the expansion of an existing treatment plant, which included the addition of 2 clarifiers, new ductile non-pipeline, and lining existing manholes. He created a visual as-built for the client’s maintenance personnel with horizontal and vertical references from rigid existing structures to the existing facilities encountered and to the multiple pipe lines installed during the course of construction.
TAHOE AREA REGIONAL TRANSIT MAINTENANCE COMPRESSED NATURAL GAS FUELING STATION & RELATED IMPROVEMENTS – Placer County, CA
Mr. Rodriguez was construction inspector providing construction management and quality assurance inspection services for the $1 million facility in Placer County, at the Tahoe Area Regional Transit Maintenance Facility, south of the Town of Truckee. Work consisted of installing a compressed natural gas fueling station including CNG compressors and enclosure, low-pressure gas dryer and enclosure, and high pressure storage tanks. Fueling stations included one two-hose fast-fill dispenser and five time-fill dispensers including distribution panels with individual metering. Construction also included underground electrical power with 480-volt service and a control and communications system that interfaces with a safety monitoring and control system. In addition, a fuel management system that compiles and transmits fueling data from the fueling dispensers and transforms this data for incorporation into Placer County’s existing automated fuel system was installed.
BURLINGTON NORTHERN SANTA FE (BNSF) RAILROAD INTERMODAL FACILITY – Stockton, CA
Mr. Rodriguez was senior construction inspector for a $34 million BNSF facility that involved multiple construction disciplines. He inspected extensive lime-stabilized sub-grade, asphalt paving, concrete pavement, multiple box culvert construction, site grading, environmental structures, and utility construction from storm and sanitary sewer mains to electrical work. Mechanical facilities included lift stations, a fire water system and a fire pump building. Administrative duties were also included.
CITY OF SAN ANTONIO CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR – San Antonio, TX
Mr. Rodriguez was construction inspector for both subdivision and capital improvement projects, including initial street excavation, utility installation and testing, curb and gutter, sidewalk, and retaining walls. He was responsible for physical measurement of monthly construction progress, traffic inspections, and material sampling and testing of sub-grade, aggregate base, asphalt and test mold cylinders of concrete pours. He also inspected flatwork construction of new sidewalks and driveways, and confirmed elevations of all structures, piping, and street grade to assure compliance with plans, bridge construction, and permit issuance. Administrative duties included project diaries, account of project quantity books and submittal of monthly pay estimates and contract time statements.
KING FAHD AIR BASE – U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Taif, Saudi Arabia
Mr. Rodriguez spent two years performing inspection of minor construction facilities including perimeter roads and fences, electric transformer pads, and emergency fire water lines. Administrative duties included assisting project engineers and lead inspection personnel.
