ï¶ As the owner’s representative for Gaylord Hotels at their 2,000-room Gaylord National Hotel, my responsibilities included; managing, updating and turnover to the Gaylord ownership and operational staff the completed guestrooms, public spaces and support spaces. Worked very closely with the field staff and subcontractors of the General Contractor to ensure operational completion of the project as well as maintaining the quality standards required by Gaylord. Managed a field staff of four Project Managers.
ï¶ Served as owner’s representative for the completion of roof and façade renovations on a portfolio of Marriott branded limited service hotels. Responsibilities include preparing scopes of work thru the completion and sign off for each project to the pre-determined operational budget.
ï¶ FFE Coordination and Project Manager responsible to manage the FFE design and procurement for several limited service hotels. Duties included bidding, contract negotiations, writing all subcontract agreements, selection of subcontractors/suppliers and scheduling of installation. Duties included developing scope of work, contracting for laundry and food service equipment, exterior building signage, FFE, OSE, and telecommunications installation. Prepare and track RFI's, change orders and submittal. Coordinate all aspects of purchasing, delivery, and product specifications with contractors in the field to ensure seamless installation and turnover.
ï¶ Responsible for developing scopes of work for one hundred fifty Exxon/Mobile Service Stations and fifty McDonald Restaurant’s ADA upgrade program. Performed complete office, financial institutions, medical offices, law firms, restaurants, college universities, US Army base and hotel space renovations. Provided business development, contract negotiations, project cost management, quality assurance, as well as an integral member of the external construction team comprised of building owners, architects, property managers and tenants. Total completed projects in excess of one million square feet.
ï¶ Responsible for handling office and field operations. Developed and coordinated project schedules, and managed a staff of thirty Journeyman and Apprentice plumbers. Initiated advertising program to increase company revenues. Responsible for budgeting, procurement, change orders, monitoring all construction thru completion and punch out.
ï¶ Managed up to five full service including, Marriott, JW Marriott, Sheraton, and Hyatt. Project budgets ranged from $250,000 to $20M. Responsibilities included design development, budgeting, procurement, scheduling and monitoring construction through completion. Also provided full monthly reports including project directory, executive summary, contract log, Microsoft schedule log, minutes of meetings and budget forecasts for each client’s project.

Budgets ranged from $100,000 to $7 million for capital and acquisition improvement projects.

ï¶ Simultaneously supervise multiple projects from preparation of specifications and construction documents through scheduling bid process to project award. Monitor and maintain CPM (critical path method) schedule as it relates to general contractor, owners contractors, owner-supplied items, owner-installed items and final completion. Renovated four hotels with budget totaling $5.5M. Interacted with hotel management to maintain minimum impact on occupancy while maintaining maximum project progress with a strict timeline.
Contracts/Material Administrator, Marriott International 1985 –1992
ï¶ Prepare, bid, analyze, negotiate, execute and administer $6M in contracts for the FF&E (including warehousing) installation for 22,000 new and renovated guest rooms and public areas. Direct site activities of subcontractors on several multi-million dollar projects. Analyze construction data to meet CPM (critical path method) and coordinated vendor production to meet installation schedules as well as coordination of trades. Hire, train and direct a staff of 10 project superintendents.

ï¶ Field supervision of construction trades on 14 renovated hotels with budgets totaling over $12M. Coordinate shop drawings, specifications, contracts, related construction documents and local codes with project requirements. Initiated quality control, project safety and on-time completion of critical path method. Interfaced with General Contractors and Operations personnel to ensure successful acceptance of completed projects. Prepared work lists for contractors and ensured completion to the satisfaction of both the contract documents and Operations.
