I have been involved in various aspects of the construction industry since the 1970’s with experience in estimating and project management. My experience covers a wide array of activities and responsibilities in various phases of construction including conceptual design, hard bid and negotiated work. From “sticks and bricks†to renovations. I have experience in a broad range of types of projects including commercial, industrial and institutional.
Estimates are based on the 16 divisions of the Construction Specifications Institute, the standard for the “sticks and bricks†industry. Estimating formats have included Xactimate, Timberline, UDA and spreadsheet analysis. I provide line item detailed scope and unit pricing. I have dealt with subcontractor and vendor solicitation, negotiation and contracting. I work well with architects, engineers and owners.
Additionally, I have worked in the insurance building loss industry. I have performed casualty loss scope and cost analysis. I have significant experience in catastrophic losses including hurricanes, tornados, fires, floods, etc. Within this, I have done replacement cost valuation, project auditing, design specifications, quality control, and construction cost analysis. I have worked major catastrophic events such as Hurricanes Jeanne, Ivan, Katrina, Wilma and Ike as well as numerous building fires and thermo freezing. I am a member in good standing as an Appraiser and Umpire for the insurance loss industry.
