American Red Cross ˜ Contract: $1.6M
. 80,000 square feet design build project. This building represents American Red Cross corporate offices in the downtown Washington D.C. area. The Electrical Contractor was hired to design/ build the electrical construction. This included design build and installation of everything from 4,000-amp switchboard down to the convenience outlet, responsible for the design build of the tele/data system, fire alarm system and working with cardkey security system. This building housed the essential mechanical plant that fed building 17 and the E street building. It also provides support for telecommunications, security system, and fire alarm system which all report back to this building.
Corporate Place ˜ Contract: $500K
. This was a 4-story building with over 120,000 square feet of core office space. Included a complete design build for this and three additional buildings to match.
Black Rock Performing Arts Center ˜ Contract: $800K
. This project was a 120,000 square foot performing Arts and Gallery center, which consisted of 4 areas (Large Dance, Small Dance, Art Gallery and Theater.) All 4 areas have independent dimming and sound systems.
Distribution Plus Inc. ˜ Contract: $1.4M
. This building was a distribution center over 400,000 square feet under one roof. The electrical installation consisted of 2 - 3,000 Amp services and 1 - 750 KW emergency generator. This building consisted of 1000,000 square foot of freezer area, 100,000 square foot of cooler area, 100,000 square foot of dry storage area, 70,000 square foot of cool dock, 40,000 square foot of dry dock and 20,000 square foot of office area.
MCI 4th and T Street Washington DC. ˜ Contract: $9.7M
. Because of the ever-changing dot COM market, this project was constructed while it was being designed. This required constant involvement with the design team as well as field forces. PEPCO inability to meet the construction schedule resulted in the addition of transformer and tape vaults being added to the scope of work. From the installation of the two 4000 amp double-ended switchboards with provision for two additional switchboards, two 2-mega watt generators (generators were used to provide power to the building temporarily) down to the last 20 amp receptacles, this project was a success.
Maryland Department of Transportation Headquarters ˜ Contract: $2.1M
. This project consisted of 120K square foot design build high tech office area. This project was one of a very few buildings in the state that have reached the Gold LEED rating. The building was equipped with daylight harvesting sensors, and automatic light output adjusting. This project also included over 1000’ of underground utility duct banks, exstensive communication infrastructure including 15 manholes, and one underground CEV. All 5 stories of this building is equipped with raised flooring throughout due to the high tech aspect of the communications systems furniture.
