1977-1984 Fairchild (Schulmberger), San Jose, CA. – Technician/Supervisor. Responsible for all Production equipment and Facilities. Installation of facility upgrades, office renovations/upgrades and Prototype Production/Manufacturing equipment.
1984-1993 Intel Corporation, Santa Clara, CA - Construction Coordinator/Supervisor. Interface between customers, subcontractors, County Building Officials, and Fire Department on multiple projects across six campuses. Including but not limited to a $1.8b, 75,000+ sf Class 1 cleanroom and process equipment installation, process gas upgrades/retrofit, pumped Acid and Solvent distribution and reclaim, DI water plant, AWN system, Hydrofluoric Acid reclaim system, Hazardous Chemical detection system installations, Emergency Generator (multiple) installations. Decommissioned existing outdated Fab ahead of schedule and under budget. Constructed a “State of the Art†Class 1 Reticle Fab, including new Process Gas distribution pad, D.I. Water and AWN Facilities upgrades. Member of Emergency Response Team and Worldwide H.I.T. (Hazardous Incident Team), trained personnel for chemical, electrical safety, construction and mechanical installations, authored corporate electrical safety specification. Design review, code compliance, estimation, permitting, construction, inspections, QA/QC, hazardous material cleanup and various peer and focus groups, several Divisional recognition awards.
1993-1994 Jack Staver Consulting, Woodstock, GA – Owner. Consulted on all aspects of new construction projects in respect to overall design, including layout of production areas in relation to support areas. Reviewed plans and construction specifications for Electrical, Mechanical and Life Safety for Code compliance and constructability.
1994-2003 Flour Daniel Construction, Norcross, GA $550m – Superintendent. Oversee all aspects of field work including but not limited to facility, Class 10 and 100 cleanrooms and process equipment additions for the Post Lathe Robotic glass handling, Tube Fabrication and Support, “N5†bulk chemical mixing and distribution system, Reel yard upgrades, Ultra Tall Draw Fiber Manufacturing buildings, Hydrogen and Nitrogen S/S main pipeline replacement, Germanium recovery, Silicon Tetrachloride storage and pumping system, various process gases, chemical storage, Hazardous Waste Storage Facility, production equipment upgrades, including equipment startup, Emergency generator installation, campus “Clean Steam System†installation and startup, design review, value engineering, estimation and permitting. Created an onsite 36 wide clear span office trailer for client and engineering firms as well as an additional 65 office trailers for subcontractors. Included all infrastructure work, phone/data, fiber-optics, sewer, power and water. County interface for client for site, building and Fire department permits, QA/QC and manufacturing source inspection for all technical installations.
2003-2009 Turner Construction Corporation, Atlanta, GA – Project Superintendent. Georgia Tech Bunger Henry Lab Renovation. $2.5m conversion of a 5600sf Pulp and Paper lab to 1400sf of Class 100 cleanroom including new Air Handlers, Power Distribution, UPS, Process Gas Distribution room, Toxic Gas monitoring, Scrubbers, Process equipment installation and hookup.
Turner Construction Corporate Office Relocation. Relocated corporate offices from the second floor to the nineteenth floor at Monarch Towers. Move consisted of approximately 200 offices, Executive conference rooms, conference rooms, data center, and all new cubicles with data, power and lighting. Prep work took three weeks at night and actual move was completed on a Holiday weekend with no downtime to all returning staff.
Emory Pediatrics Clinical Research Building. $34m seven story 78ksf of lab and office space, 37ksf of pediatric clinic and a 15ksf Vivarium.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Building 19 Global Communications and Training Facility. $42m 190ksf facility which houses state of the art meeting spaces, distance learning hubs, classrooms, offices, satellite broadcast centers, production studios, public health museum, visitor’s center, stand-alone parking structure. Installation of additional two 2250 ton chillers and support equipment, two cooling towers, three 2250 kW emergency generators, transfer switches and switchgear to existing Central Utilities Plant.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Building 10, 11, 20, 34, 53 and Roybal Campus Infrastructure. $110m
Demolition of existing Transshipping/fitness center. Construction of a 5 story 95ksf office area and state of the art Lifestyle Fitness center, Transshipping Facility, Central Utility Plant expansion/upgrade including three 2250 kW and four 2000 kW emergency generators, transfer switches, switchgear, Chiller upgrades, process chilled water pumps/cooling tower and control upgrades, campus (15+ acres) underground fuel oil distribution system and infrastructure including two 90kgal underground tanks, new GA Power Substation.
