The Kane Company offers a variety of services including office moving, modular furniture installation, records management, document destruction, and third party logistics. The Company has over 500 employees in 24 mid-Atlantic locations and operates nationally. My responsibilities include:
• Managing the workers’ compensation program including accident investigation, location and division analysis, coordination of emergency response procedures, industry benchmarking, carrier service review and annual fiscal budgeting. Implemented a return to work program reducing claims cost by 80% in 2 years.
• Coordinating the renewal process for insurance coverage including general liability, vehicle liability, cargo protection, workers’ compensation, legal liability, hazardous materials and pollution control coverage.
• Identifying and coordinating contract specific insurance requirements such as, certificates of insurance, bid bonds, performance and payment bonds and trip transit coverage.
• Coordinating and providing facility and job site audits and inspections.

• Overseeing 55 drivers including recruitment, screening, hiring, on-going monitoring and compliance.
• Negotiating annual benefits plan renewal and, through effective marketing, reduced the overall costs by 25%.
• Managing all corporate benefits plans including carrier selection, enrollment, claims reviews, FMLA requests and COBRA compliance.

• Overseeing the $10 million 401(k) program including employee orientation and education meetings, raising the participation rate to 79%. Conducting quarterly audits of plan activity, annual fiscal budgeting and annual vendor service review. Managing the vendor selection process, vendor communication and handled all associate inquiries.
• Monitoring the $8 million defined benefit pension plan including annual fiscal budgeting, pension funding requirements and investment analysis.
• Managing the Employee Assistance Program, including contract negotiation, supervisor and associate training, coordination of and participation in individual and group counseling sessions and annual fiscal budgeting.
