THE HIGH LINE BUILDING 450 W 14TH ST., NEW YORK, NY
The High Line Building at 450 West 14th Street is a 100,000 square foot, 11 story boutique office tower, being constructed above an existing 100 year old masonry industrial building straddling the High Line, which will actually run for 103 feet through the lower floors of the building. The building is going to be all commercial, offering 8,000 square feet retail space with soaring ceiling heights across two different ground-floor spaces, and will have a staircase and elevators for access to the track. This is a unique project, because this is the only building in NYC that actually shares structure with the High Line. Because it shares structures and support systems with an old railway, every design decision had to be carefully thought out. With brand new interior mechanicals and industrial elements, this will be a unique one-of-a-kind space.
The project, is also seeking a LEED for Core and Shell Gold rating from USGBC. Green features are mostly LEED-standard, including efficient lighting, plumbing, and insulation, and low-VOC and FSC-certified finishes. There will be two 3,000 lb. passenger elevators, a chilled water plant to consist of electric drive modular high efficiency machines designed to operate in parallel, two cell cooling towers will be located on the building roof, and will serve the refrigeration plant.
Project Amount: $31,000,000.00 (This project is on schedule and meeting budget)
