Senior Design & Process Engineer/Senior Estimator
Major Duties: Design and program if necessary, CNC fixtures, CNC tooling, gages, dies, automated production
machines and automated inspection machines for fabrication and production requirements, as well as estimating
production criteria and fabrication costs for quote purposes.
Major Accomplishments:
• Designed, programmed and implemented CNC production fixtures and inspection machines for G.E. Locomotive, Grove City, PA., and G.E. Erie, PA
• Designed, PLC programmed and implemented CNC production fixtures, inspection machines and gages for Ford Motor Co., General Motors, Humvee, Honda, Toyota, Chrysler, Chevrolet, Siemens, Delphi, Visteon, BMW, Indalex, Signature Aluminum, Werner Ladder and the Department of Defense.
• Responsible for CNC production and CNC tooling fabrication and manufacturing/production quotes for sixty percent of all jobs awarded at Viking Tool & Gage.
• Performed continuous process improvement studies and statistical analysis of all manufacturing and production responsibilities, rates and requirements for return on investment recommendations and Lean production standards.
• Heavily involved with Quality Assurance to meet or exceed the internal and external customer requirements while maintaining our ISO9002, QS9000 and ISO/TS 16949:200 certifications.
• Designed and/or purchased all necessary equipment for the fourteen manufacturing procedures required to produce General Motors adjustable steering shafts including the tooling design for the automatic swage machine. Total project cost of $1.15 million dollars.

Senior Process/Product Design Engineer
Major Duties: New product design; process and/or equipment design, CNC tooling design to meet all manufacturing,
requirements, maintain state-of-the-art knowledge and principles of CNC manufacturing and design, provide all
required technical resources for product and/or process improvement and/or implementation.
Major Accomplishments:
• Designed the 209, 212, 215, 428, 423, 433, 443, 463, 483 pliers. Determined the start-up cost, production cost and return on investment for each. Also designed broach inserts, broach holder bars, broach fixtures, punch press dies, punch press fixtures, CNC milling tooling, milling arbors, CNC milling fixtures, and all required gauging for each individual plier.
• Designed and PLC programmed the automatic wire/paper cut test machine to meet Channellock and A.N.S.I specifications. (Patent Pending)
• Designed the standardization of pliers to form an entirely new plier line known as SOLAR™. (Patent Pending)
• Designed the fully automatic PLC/PID loop control programmable automatic feed system (carrier plate with guides) for double disc grinding system, (Patent Pending)
• Designed new high-pressure coolant nozzles and pumping system for high speed CBN creep feed grinding of hardened tool steel. (Patent Pending)
• Specified the requirements for and designed a new plier riveting system termed “box joint cold peen†to eliminate two currently required manufacturing operations. (Patent Pending)
• Developed a steel blackening operation utilizing a common rust preventative. (Patent Pending)
• Installed and PLC programmed the fully automated 1.5 million dollar e-coat process line for cleaning, coating, gripping and curing all pliers manufactured at Channellock, Inc.

Capital Project Engineer
Major Duties: Conceiving and developing designs; drawing, detailing, and specifying equipment to meet all of the
desired objectives; designing new equipment for specific applications; purchasing equipment, coordinating all
facets of installation and implementation based on a sequential time line; overseeing start-up procedures and
providing training to operators and maintenance personnel and providing continuous improvement initiatives.
Major Accomplishments:
• Managed and implemented Fine Grind Project: 5.4 million dollar expansion to fully automate and increase the weigh-up, mixing, grinding, and conveyance of mash by 250%. This project fully automated all facets of the manufacturing and inventory systems, saving 75% of the man-hours previously required. Over two hundred separate tasks and twelve subcontractors were coordinated in this effort.
• Installed grain bins and automatic cannery grain batching system (1.1 million).
• Completed mash bin addition project (.75 million), small bag line project (.45 million), and warehouse expansion project (1.4 million).
