Work History
• Johnson Brothers Construction (7/07 – 2/10). I worked on extensive remodel projects. Most involved removal of an existing roof and adding second floors. I did large concrete pours, all phases of framing, door and window installation, and extensive trim work.
• Cobb Construction (7/06 – 7/07). Completed extensive change orders and completed punch lists for this high end builder. This included microwave and range hood installation, door and window installation and troubleshooting, as well as walk- throughs with city inspectors and subcontractors. I was offered a better paying position.
• ADJ Custom Builders (5/05 – 7/06). I was a remodel and finish carpenter for this small company. I installed crown, casing, and base moldings. I also installed several composite stair railing systems.
• Gold Star Construction (4/04 – 9/05). I worked on this large production framing crew. I installed windows, shear walls , and fixed many improperly framed window rough openings.
• Erwin and Associates (7/03 – 4/04). I was a remodeling carpenter in this large crew. We mostly worked on residential remodels, start to finish. I did extensive work in basic masonry and plastering, most notably on the McCleary Mansion in downtown Olympia.
• XYZ corporation (10/02 - 7/03). I was hoping to help this newly reformed company, formerly Wilco construction (see below) finish a 10,000 square foot steel home. I was also a remodel carpenter and finish handyman in several apartment complexes as a subcontractor.
• Virtual Construction (6/02 - 10/02). I was a second framer for this small residential framing company. It was stable and paid well, yet some of the houses were over two hours away.
• Wilco Construction (7/01 – 6/02). I was a steel framer on a 10,000 sq. ft. residential home (Iverson Residence, Lacey,WA) as well as a subcontractor to Advanced Interiors and Sierra Construction for interior steel framing (Wal-Mart, Bonney Lake and Lacey,WA).
• Heartwood Institute (11/00 – 7/01). I helped build several new structures as part of the building maintenance crew, including a stress skin panel building, some wood framing, and a straw bale/ cob octagon.
• Framers Inc. (1/00 – 11/00). I was part of a large crew that built the Bellingham Co housing community, the Fairhaven Inn, and some residential homes. At the co housing project, I worked almost exclusively on shed roofs, cedar decks, and cedar wheelchair access ramps.
• Berg Builders (2/98 - 12/98). I worked for this custom builder as a second framer. We built a 4,500 square foot home with 2x8 studs and all hand nailed.
• Mason & Toussaint Construction (7/97 –2/98). I was a framer and residential remodeler. We were building production spec homes with siding and windows installed before raising walls.
• Nalu Construction (5/96 – 7/97). I was a second framer for this small crew. My employer suffered a debilitating accident.
• Cutting Edge Construction ( 11/94 – 5/96). I was a laborer, framer’s apprentice, and also drove a backhoe, bobcat, forklift, and felled over 60 trees.
• Soundings of the Planet Studios (8/93 – 11/94). I was a demolition laborer and remodeler’s apprentice. We renovated three homes, one over 90 years old.
