PROJECT WORK
• Design of Experiments- Analyzing the factors affecting Injection molding process
 To obtain favorable conditions minimizing the shrinkage of the produced parts.
 Designed a 16 run two-level factorial model to screen the factors.
 Treatment combinations were run in random sequence generated by Design Expert.
 Used Minitab to conduct Analysis of Variance and regression on the factors.
 Studied the residual and interaction plots for the observed shrinkage.
 Mold temperature and screw speed interactions were significant.
• Total Quality Management- Production modeling of toy hovercrafts.
 Constructed CIMpgr diagrams with feedback loops to manage the systems.
 Used QFD matrixes to sequence the customer needs to product development.
 Analyzed the process variables and attributes using x bar and u charts.
 Employed PFRA spreadsheets to identify the potential failure modes.
 Recommended RFID tags for inventory tracking and management.
• Concurrent Engineering- Artificial Photosynthesis Equipment
 Drew flow charts to design the attributes for the equipment.
 Part deployment matrixes to assemble the product priorities and target values.
 Taguchi method to study factors affecting Co2 consumption
 Used Cause and effect diagrams to aid the product cycle.
 FMEA to analyze potential failure modes.
 Rapid prototyping to manufacture prototypes.
• Performance and Emission Study of Bio-Diesel Blends.
 Tested the bio-diesel blends by running a low speed diesel engine on different loads.
 Calculated the performance characteristics of the engine.
 Obtained the exhaust gas emission readings using flue gas analyzer and smoke density tester.
 Constructed performance graphs and emission curves to compare the efficiency of fuels.
 Blend B40 showed better performance and emission standards.
