My review of the vacancy announcement has led me to conclude that the opportunity for me to become a team member working on the management of these commercial construction projects is an excellent fit. Please consider this my formal letter of application for the position.
My experience as a project engineer, senior project engineer, assistant project manager, and project manager since graduating from college, in combination with my formal education, gives me a background which would contribute to the construction management and estimating needs of any project. My professional background provides a rich variety of construction management responsibilities. I point to my experience in government and commercial construction management, my work with commercial tenant improvement, and the wide range in size of construction firms for whom I have worked. These experiences have given me knowledge of how a variety of firms conduct their business. I am able to call upon a reservoir of systems, practices, and networks when managing a project.
My journey in construction management began with my entrance into the University of Oklahoma’s Architecture School. My educational experience in construction science was the highlight of my education. I found that I genuinely enjoyed the field because of the melding of my individual talents and interests with the requirements for a successful career in construction management.
The progression of my experiences in the field has confirmed my initial interest in construction management as a career. I find the work challenging and rewarding.
