Over twenty years experience in construction, operations, and maintenance in the power generation industry with comprehensive skills in maintenance, scheduling, planning and operations. Current responsibilities include the direct supervision of maintenance personnel in a coal fired power plant. Maintenance Supervisor: 1/07 to present
DTE Energy Services, TS Power Plant, Dunphy NV.
Responsibilities include overseeing the construction, commissioning and start up phases of the facility from a facility staff maintenance perspective. Initial responsibilities included the set up of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including the spare parts inventory, predictive and Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs; bin stock inventory, maintenance procedures and the initial staffing of the maintenance shop. Current responsibilities also include motivating personnel to complete tasks safely, in an environmentally acceptable manner and on schedule, ensuring that personnel are properly trained and provided the tools necessary to complete all tasks required; the direct supervision of 8 mechanics and 1 machinist on daily basis, ensuring that all company policies and procedures are followed and company and department objectives are met; assume the duties of the maintenance manager in their absence.
Senior Maintenance Specialist: 12/01 to 1/07
Northern Star Generation Services Company LLC, Las Vegas, NV.
Responsibilities include performing predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance on gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSG's, cooling towers, water treatment systems, and all supporting equipment and accessories. Duties include utilizing the CMMS and materials inventory systems to create PM tasks, generate work orders for all types of repairs, develop outage work lists, and to issue or order materials for plant repairs and outages and assisting with the development of overhaul specifications for gas and steam turbines. Additional requirements included performing pre-maintenance evaluation of equipment after work order generation to establish repair priority and parts required to complete the work. During plant outages was assigned to directly supervise the mechanical contractors and all mechanical repairs. Repairs performed in-house by the maintenance specialist include minor to major rebuilds of pumps, fans, gas turbines, water treatment equipment, and balance of plant equipment. During facility shutdowns responsibilities included safety oversight of mechanical contractors, supervising contractors, and coordinating materials for all mechanical maintenance repairs. Power Plant Operator qualified to stand shift as needed.
Turbine Maintenance Specialist: 5/00 to 12/01
El Paso Power Operations Turbine Maintenance Group, Bakersfield, CA.
Responsibilities included removal, repair, and installation of aeroderivative gas turbines. Duties included performing a pre job evaluation; developing a required materials list; ordering and issuing parts; and performing minor and major repairs on the gas turbine fleet worldwide. Repairs performed included borescope inspections of rotating and stationary components; variable stator vane rigging; and gas generator thrust balance adjustments; complete overhauls of HPC cases; blade weighing; and grinding and changing both the HPC and HPT rotor blades and vanes. Typical assignments included performing maintenance up to GE level three on turbines in the in-house turbine maintenance shop.
Maintenance Specialist: 9/96 to 5/00

Mechanic's Apprentice: 9/93 to 9/96
Bonneville Pacific Services, Las Vegas, NV.
Responsibilities included performing mechanical maintenance repairs under the supervision of a qualified maintenance specialist while in an apprentice training program. Training included both classroom and on the job education for the safe and efficient maintenance of plant equipment. Provided training included attending the formal training classes offered by GE for LM2500 gas turbines, pump alignment, steam turbine generator maintenance, heat recovery steam generator operations and maintenance, power plant operations, and mechanical seal maintenance. Qualified as a power plant operator and stood operations shifts in relief for training and vacations. During a staffing shortage stood operations shifts for a six month period.
Welders Helper: 2/90 to 9/93
Aasgard Construction, Trona, CA.
Responsibilities included performing various tasks throughout two chemical plants and one pulverized coal-fired power plant. Duties included concrete pours; assisting welders in replacing and installing pipe; and performing structural repairs and installation. During plant outages performed furnace cleaning, as well as repairs on burners, outer boiler skin, and bowl mills of two coal-fired boilers. Duties also included operating various types of heavy equipment for moving coal and performing the yearly salt harvest.
Pipe Fitter: 3/88 to 2/90
E&L Engineering Contractors, Trona, CA.
Responsibilities included performing pipe fitter duties during the construction of a 96 Megawatt circulating fluidized bed coal-fired power plant. Duties included small bore pipe fitting for various systems throughout the plant; and using isometric drawings and blue prints to cut, fabricate, and fit 4" pipe (and smaller) for various welders. Duties also included the erection of the turbine building structure and setting of the steam turbine; installation of all piping for the steam turbine oil flushing; and fitting and installing temporary piping for flushing and testing of various auxiliary systems.
