Senior Landscape Architect – Gannett Fleming, Inc. 10 2009 – Present
Currently working on one project brought to Gannett Fleming - SunnysideUp Sustainable streetscape design and construction documents, Morgantown, WV. Development of Complete Street design, multimodal transportation and urban infill development connecting the two campuses of West Virginia University. Also independently working on a team in conjunction with the City of Baltimore, the City Department of Sustainability, the Planning Department and the Permitting and Inspections Department to develop a new program –The Baltimore City Green Building Standards, the first of its kind in the United States. The primary goal is to promote the design and construction of green building projects in Baltimore City including reduction of greenhouse gas emissions through energy conservation and transit oriented development, urban infill, enhancement of water quality, improving storm water management protection of the Chesapeake Bay and environs, reduce heat island effect using enhanced landscapes, improved tree canopy, cool roofs, green roofs, lighter paving materials and pervious pavements, promote material resource conservation, facilitate sustainable transportation alternatives, and promote the greening of Baltimore City through bio-retention areas, pocket parks, rain gardens, green roof terraces, using native vegetation and protection of existing natural ecosystems.

Tasked to rebuild landscape architecture and planning program in a primarily Civil Engineering firm; responsible for management and mentoring of staff, billing, client liaison, business development for public sector work including project awards of approximately $1.75 million. Comprehensive urban planning, visioning, sustainable design of public parks, streetscapes, bikeways, infrastructure, stormwater design, feasibility studies in Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, New Jersey and New York. Create and facilitate teams of in-house staff and outside consultants including LEED AP architects, transportation planners, civil, structural and MEP engineers, economists and environmental scientists. Understanding and application of Tax Increment Financing (TIF) for urban development. Projects include City of Baltimore Green Building Standards, sustainable park, streetscape and infrastructure design in Maryland and West Virginia and a pilot program for Washington, DC DDOT Safe Routes to School. Project management, redevelopment and reconstruction of hurricane damaged sites; primarily of flood and storm-damaged residential properties; daily management and liaison with consultants, subcontractors, vendors, Neighborhood Associations; determine City and Parish zoning, building codes and permits requirements. Cost Estimation and budgeting. Determine workloads and scheduling of labor effort and materials. Consult with local architecture firm on a number of projects both residential and commercial, some of which were historic structures. Also consult on projects in Pass Christian and Gulfport, Mississippi.

Working within an Architectural and Design Services firm, tasked to create and develop landscape architecture department; management and mentoring of staff, billing, client liaison, marketing, urban development, greenfield mixed-use master planning, site planning and landscape design in Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey and New York.
