• Represent the US Army Corp of Engineers as the only fire protection engineer quality assurance representative. The USACE is building the new Walter Reed Hospital which includes 1 seven story hospital, 4 clinic buildings, 2 garages, and 1 central utility plant for a total of 2 million square feet and $850 million contract.
• 3rd party review on sprinkler, fire alarm, fire proofing, fire stopping, life safety submittals and construction drawings.
• Inspect all 8 buildings pertaining to life safety and fire protection construction and installation. Making sure they are built to NPFA and IBC codes.
• Interact with the general contractor, sprinkler, fire alarm, and fire proofing subcontractors, the other quality assurance reps, architects, engineers, and the USACE clients.

• Review and test the new NIH fire alarm upgrade system for 60 buildings. This includes at 15 story hospital of 4 million square feet, office buildings, animal facilities, daycare center, family lodging, and laboratories.

• Accomplishments include creating a detailed database to track down all real and false alarms that occurred in the DC metropolitan area over the past ten years. The successful review of this database showed my superiors that more advanced equipment were needed in federal buildings to ensure less frequent false alarms and save valuable time of local fire fighters.
