Objective
To produce a quality product, while maintaining a safe and productive work environment, within the project’s budget and timeline.
Qualifications
I keep a professional relationship with my crew and work with safety at all times attitude. I believe in a no drug work environment. I expect a good day’s work for a day’s pay and do not ask anyone to do anything that I would not be willing to do right along side of him or her. To control labor costs for the company I keep the crews busy doing something productive at all times. I work closely with the superintendent to coordinate all projects in a timely fashion to keep a productive jobsite. I believe in being a productive supervisor who works as hard as my crew works to get the job done right the first time and in a timely manner. I like to train new employees by first telling them how and why things are done in a certain way touching strongly on safety issues and then working with them until I know they are comfortable doing the job correctly which saves on unnecessary costly reworking.
Education
I graduated junior high school from Falls City Junior High School in Falls City Nebraska in 1978. I have obtained my GED from Missouri State to begin work on my bachelor’s degree for project manager.
Relevant Experience
I was supervisor at Amcon Construction from September 1993 to June 2001. I was in charge of a commercial concrete crew putting in such things as basements, steps, sidewalks, approaches, light poles bases, driveways,
suspended floors, footings, walls, grade beams, columns etc. I was also in charge of daily progress reports, labor control, coordinating with the Project Superintendent, transporting and operating specialized equipment such as track hoes, skid steers, augers, etc.
I left Amcon for better pay and benefits at RP Construction. While at RP Construction, I also ran a commercial concrete crew performing same duties as above.
Relevant Experience (continued)
In September of 2003, I started my own company and sub-contracted from RP Construction for a year doing their commercial site work. I then began working with builders of residential homes doing basements, garages, steps,
stoops, city sidewalks, city approaches, etc.
In May of 2007, I began work at Vigen Construction, Inc. as Job site Supervisor. I worked on their Cedar Rapids, IA Project for ADM. I have obtained my structural welding, OSHA 10 training, safety training for forklifts, Hilti powder actuated tools, medic first aid in cpr and blood borne pathogens, safety crane operation certificates within this past year. I hold a clear class A CDL license with a current health certificate. I also operate a 110-ton lattice crawler for Vigen. May of 2008 I completed ATS’ online Management Program, which emphasizes safety.
Currently I am working with Alpha Concrete as a Supervisor doing commercial building.
Other Experience
Since 1993, while at Amcon Construction through present day, I have also worked on maintenance of the company equipment including trailers, trucks, air brakes, engine repairs, safety reports and inspections, skid steers, etc. I can read and understand blueprints and use survey equipment.
