QUALIFICATIONS
I have many years of construction experience from a carpenter in the field to the past 20 years in Operations, Project Management, or Estimating. The areas of most experience are construction of institutional facilities; industrial processing plants, tenant improvement, and design build negotiated projects. Prior to the past <6 years at Kier Corp, I spent 3 years estimating government projects involving Homeland Security issues, and Conceptual Estimating for Design – Build.
My abilities to manage a construction company’s resources are well documented in letters of recommendation (copies available upon request). This experience comes from management of multiple projects, sub-contractors, manpower, and equipment.
I have also been involved in the human resources departments with developing employee policies and training programs. My experience covers generating critical path schedules, estimating, as well as financial decisions relating to company strategic plans.
WORK HISTORY
Senior Estimator – Kier Construction Corp. (May 2004 – Feb. 2010)
Estimated and negotiated Multi-family Housing Projects (new and rehab work), Commercial Projects, Healthcare Facilities, and Industrial projects. As senior estimator I was the lead hard bid estimator. My skills include proficiency in Timberline Estimating, On Screen Take-Off, Excel, and Data Base programs. I performed buyout and value engineering tasks for cost accounting. My duties included interfacing projects with accounting and project review tasks with Project Managers and Superintendents. I generated written scopes for sub-contract generation. I was responsible for developing relationships with repeat customers and negotiating final contract pricing through conceptual estimating and budgeting. Coordinated estimating efforts on DFCM Projects, Government (GSI) Projects, Private Projects, Negotiated, Design Build, and Hard Bid. Maintained sub-contractor database for 48 States, Timberline database, generated WINFAX documents, compiled quantities take-off estimating reports, and assembled bid documents.

Operations Manager, STARR Corporation, Inc. (June 1993 – April 1997)
Responsible for all construction activities. Hired and maintained a competent work force of construction managers, project superintendents, concrete workers, steelworkers, and carpenters. Purchased and maintained all company equipment through company mechanic. Developed and managed safety program. Worked with construction managers in generation and management of all scheduling and project management matters. Participated as a member of the four person STARR Corporation Management Team.
Chief Estimator, Ron Stanley Company, Inc. (April 1991 – June 1993)
Involved primarily with marketing, selling, and estimating of projects with a value of up to five million dollars. Generated all schedules and was responsible for the financial tracking of all projects. As a staff manager I was involved with decisions regarding company strategic planning. Pursued work in seven Western states.
