RE: Construction – Executive Management
Please see my attached Resume where I possess every skill required of this position, where my 20+years of executive construction business management, business development, sales management and client relations experience will achieve all of your company goals and objectives. My career spans the start-up of (12) new business divisions in the market areas of California, Nevada, Oregon and Florida. My career has included the development of millions of square feet of municipal infrastructure and roadways, the construction of over 3,000 homes, 2,000+ apartments, medical offices, banks, schools, shopping centers, custom homes, etc.
I reside in Reno, Nevada; however I am currently the Vice-President of Business Development for a Portland, Oregon construction company. I was the Nevada CEO-President of this company for 9-years prior to its closing in June 2009. My employer knows that I am seeking a new position and I am available immediately. This is a unique situation that I will explain at interview.
I have had experience with Northern Nevada Habitat for Humanity projects through the Builders Association of Northern Nevada and the Rotary Club that I am a member. I have a long history of community service and sitting community non-profit board of directors, so I have been directly involved in fundraising, securing industry and union participation in community projects, etc.
Contract writing, RFP/RFI preparation and contract negotiations are an area of expertise for me. The need for careful business forecasting, project planning, accurate project budgeting, setting clear project expectations, achieving maximum schedules while maintaining outstanding quality control are all elements that insure project success through the teams individual and collective accountability and maintains company profitability. I believe in open team communication as it creates new ideas and achieves great things as well as instills team ownership.
I am seeking a position where I can be an effective team leader of an aggressive growth oriented company where my skills and qualifications can be used to benefit the company to their maximum extent. As always there is much to learn but these challenges drive my personality to achieve success.
I am a successful construction business manager that will achieve your expectations and accomplish your goals and objectives. I look forward to the opportunity to interview with you and to become a member of your most effective business management team. I invite you to go to my personal website at www.jameswilburn.webs.com.
Respectfully,
Jim Wilburn
