For Single-Family, Multi-Family and Commercial Divisions – Gulf Bay Construction
Naples, Florida
My role as the senior manager for the development and construction of an ongoing 6000+ unit, 4000 acre DRI, closing more than 500 units per year. These units were priced from $650,000 to more than $5 million. Construction included multiple communities, site infrastructure, amenity facilities, club & spa, and marine facilities.
Reported directly to President of Construction with operational and set-up responsibility for the construction division including budgeting, P&L, scheduling, safety, and quality control. Direct management of staff within the division including: project managers, project engineers, superintendents, and administrative staff; with indirect management of support departments including: estimating, customer service, options/interior design, and self performing trades. I acted as the direct liaison with the Owner of the company, for product development managing consultants: architects, landscape design, and interior designers. My duties also included the coordination with all the government agencies, officials, and other development partners.

• Direct product development and attend meetings with architects, engineers, interior designers, vendors and subcontractors to continuously upgrade product standards.
• Oversee the design and construction process of all products with assigned staff.
• Review subcontractor scope of work with staff to ensure that scope is complete and include quality initiatives required to achieve goals.
• Review subcontractor and vendor pay applications with project staff.
• Monitor field activities for the implementation of all procedures and corporate standards.
• Implementation of Timberline software for estimating, project management, accounting and customer service.
8/03 – 11/04 Senior Project Manager - JW Grand, Inc – Raleigh, North Carolina
Overall responsibilities were the management for construction of the Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club project at Duke University, Durham, North Carolina. This was an existing Mobil 4-Star Hotel and Restaurant where we did a $25M addition of 127 guest rooms, new golf pro shop, and a 2-story training facility for the Duke Golf Team. Duke University wanted to upgrade to a Mobil 5-Star Hotel.
All of the interior finishes were high-end with custom millwork and Italian stone. Our staff included (1) Project Manager, (2) Project Engineers, (1) Administrative Assistant and (4) Superintendents.

My responsibilities included the day-to-day operations in Charleston, South Carolina for a Marriott Renaissance Hotel and a 5-story parking garage across the street . The hotel is currently rated as a Mobil 4-Star Hotel and is located in the downtown Historical District. The interior of the Hotel was designed to replicate Charleston French Antique. I had a staff of (1) Project Manager, (1) Project Engineer, (1) General Superintendent, (4) Superintendents and (1) Administrative Assistant.

5/99 -2/00 Senior Project Manager – Haskell Company – Jacksonville, Florida
I was the first hire with their new Hospitality Division. Slow to start with the $6M renovation of a Sheraton Hotel in Boca Raton, Florida which was completed on time and under budget. Supervision of (3) golf courses for the U.S. Government at Parris Island, South Carolina, Augusta, Georgia and Richmond, Virginia.

6/98 – 5/99 Project Manager – Price Woods, Inc. – Mesa, Arizona
Venetian Hotel - Las Vegas, Nevada. Responsible for the day-to-day operations related to Restaurant Row and parts of the casino area and lobby. Restaurant Row included Delmonico’s, Pinot Brasserie and Valentino’s (among others) all of which are currently rated as either 4-Star or 5-Star restaurants.

Duties included the day-to-day operations of this company that specialized in high-end retail market and concentrated on restaurants and specialty stores.

1988 – 1991 Project Manager – Corporex Constructors – Covington, Kentucky
Construction of the $85M Covington Rivercenter project that included a 19-story office tower,
7-story Embassy Suites Hotel and a 5-level underground parking garage.

1976 – 1988 Owner – Flexcon, Inc. – Cincinnati, Ohio
Started company doing new home construction and built 84 homes. I then gradually switched to commercial renovations during the early 1980’s when the interest rates were at 16%. Eventually phased into the new construction commercial market doing nursing homes, restaurants and (3) apartment developments.
