SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Completed capital project ahead of schedule. Assigned additional work to project schedule for Workstage on Metro Health hospital, involving three courtyards, extended gas piping and new hard offices in already finished areas. Secured completion four months ahead of deadline. Achieved fastest project closeout in company history.
Leveraged technical expertise to ensure safety. Placed in charge of a 1.3 million square foot renovation project, governing site safety. Met with subcontractors, OSHCON and insurance carrier to implement requirements for hazard assessment. Safety efforts earned Workstage’s Value Award for Discipline in construction processes.
Doubled performance standards. Assigned to supervise $20M construction of Howard Performance Arts Center. Identified and enforced acoustical standards from masonry and precast assemblies to MEP requirements and noise/vibration breaks. Implemented stringent acoustical controls, delivering acoustics equaling a $40-$60M facility.
Worked with local authorities on high profile project. Tasked to maintain fire protection guidelines during the demolition of a 1.3 million square foot retail mall. Collaborated with the Fire Marshal, maintaining required fire protection throughout the project. Established strong relationships with local government and building officials.
Solving construction issues to meet customer needs. Reviewed blueprints for new medical facility, determining the plans did not allow adequate space for later placement of MRI equipment in designated area without interference and costs. Led and implemented design change that avoided unnecessary costs and disruption.
CAREER HISTORY
Construction Manager, 2009 to Present. Blue Bridge Ventures, a commercial/industrial real estate development company. Managing multiple projects, including the conversion of an old urban warehouse into a micro-brewery and office condominiums, as well as the conversion of a 400,000 sq. ft. high-bay manufacturing facility built by GM into a film and sound recording studio.
Site Superintendent:
Bay Shore Contractors, 2009. Supervised successful renovation of historic lighthouse for U.S. Coast Guard.
Workstage, LLC, 2006 to 2009. Managed up to 300 staff and on-site project construction and project reporting activities. Supervised site safety, contractor compliance, scheduling, and on-site client contact. The firm, renowned for its sustainable buildings, closed its doors in 2009.
Fiskars Construction, 1996 to 2005. Oversaw up to 50 direct staff. Responsible for site and building layout and elevation controls. Managed quality, project tracking, and compliance to construction documents and codes.
