I recently relocated back to the Twin Cities metro area after completing a
short-term Department of Defense contract position with the Marine Corps Headquarters that
ended in December and I am looking for a full-time permanent position in the design and
construction industry.
My professional practice has helped me master working effectively with my clients and my team
to produce a project and an experience that exceeds the client’s standards. I have a proven
record of being a solid performer by meeting and exceeding goals, with a keen eye for detail,
technically sound, organized and able to coordinate large tasks and groups efficiently. I am a
multi-task oriented person who is most comfortable having many responsibilities. I am currently
working to obtain my architectural license, with four of the nine exams remaining. I currently
comply with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards as an Architectural Historian but once my
registration is complete I will qualify as a Historic Architect. To further enhance my
qualifications, I also plan to attain certifications for LEED and CCM in the upcoming year.
Through my variety of experiences in architecture, preservation and retail, I have had the chance
to work on many innovative projects that have added value in designing and developing projects
for many types of construction. I have been able to work on LEED projects, manage the
restoration of a historic burial vault, develop and procure contracts for new construction,
manage and audit budgets, lead quality control teams for Federal projects from the design phase
through construction, write grant applications for the State-in-Aid Program, present and prepare
briefs for design review hearings, and develop complex projects from inception to completion.
In addition to my time in the design and construction industry, I have had opportunities to work
as a manager, customer service representative, and human resources analyst, gaining experience
outside the architecture world in marketing, sales and HR, helping to further develop my
interpersonal skills. During my time at Opus Architects and Engineers, I was given the
opportunity to spend a significant amount of time working on projects in the construction
administration phase, which in-turn fostered my interest and positions in construction
management with Opus East, LLC and Congressional Glass.
