January 2009 to March 2010
American River College Remodel/Expansion $5.9 million. The project consisted of abatement and selective demo in a 40 year old building. 20k square feet of the existing building was remodeled and an additional 10k sq. ft. of floor space was added. The new roof deck incorporated a “green roof” system. The added structure consisted of 36” diameter x 27’ deep concrete pier columns supporting structural steel columns, beams, pan deck and lightweight concrete. Relocation of the existing underground piping for the hydronics system was required to make room for the new building footprint. As the project’s Senior Superintendent I was responsible for safety, scheduling, coordination of selective demo and abatement as well as quality control. Logistical coordination of material delivery and crew access was a high priority as the existing Library building is located in the center of the campus. Working with the owner’s reps as well as the full design and engineering team. I was also responsible for interfacing with the students and staff on a fully operational campus. I ran weekly subcontractor meetings to monitor the progress as well as coordinate future activities. The meetings were also used to discuss safety, RFI’s and potential issues for constructability and scheduling. I tracked the meeting minutes via Prolog.
