I have worked over the last twenty-four years in the capacity of construction laborer, framer, painter, project engineer, project manager, coordinator, estimator and small business owner. I have participated in and/or completed dozens of large-scale projects as well as a multitude of smaller ones. As the owner/operator of a small construction business I have bid and built residential property projects valued anywhere from $500 to $450,000. As a project engineer I have worked as an individual or as a team member on jobs with values of over $30 million.
Regardless of the type of project the management activities remain similar; these elements include project initiation, submittal processing, material buyout, scheduling, prod uction of contracts and purchase orders, personnel management, dispute resolution and project turnover. These are all activities that I exercise regularly.
Administrative trade tools within my experience include Primavera, Suretrak, Excel, MS Project, Expedition, most all the common Microsoft tools, as well as keeping a good filing system. Communication misunderstandings are always easier to resolve when records are well kept.
I have broad field experience and am skilled with a myriad of power tools. I am comfortable with inclement weather and dirty hands. I am equally comfortable in the office atmosphere
I have a BS in Construction Management from Central Washington University and stopped two quarters short of also having an English degree from Seattle University. I have lived in the Federal Way area for nearly 35 years. When I am not busy with construction I’m kept busy with raising my kids and serving as a volunteer wrestling coach at Federal Way HS.
