For 15 years, I have been working on commercial buildings as an experienced Electrician. Three of these years were spent with the IBEW Local #26, 6200 Kansas Avenue, NE. I have:
* installed and maintained a variety of equipment and circuitry, including switchgear and distribution panels
* installed electrical wiring systems, installed and replaced panels, outlet boxes
* installed conduits including splicing and the connection of wires to fixtures, outlets, switches, receptacles and power sources
* installed and maintained Simplex and Notifier fire alarm systems.

Professional Experience
Tower-Davis Electric, Springfield, VA July 2006 – January 2010
Electrician and Fire Alarm Tech
* Laid out and installed switch gear, MCC, panels, transformers, disconnects, transfer switches, including laying out floors for all pads to set transformers, switch gear section by section, and MCC section by section. Also, laid out walls for all panels, disconnects, and transfer switches Electric Room.
* Laid out conduit runs for equipment. This refers to equipment inside electric room and all equipment outside electric room such as generators, fire pump controllers, elevator machine room and measured all conduit runs for feeder wire lengths.
* Installed bus duct, tap boxes and disconnects for meter banks. This involved:
o Installing and testing every piece of Bus Duct installed from switchgear for ground faults and for bonding, and set tap boxes to feed disconnects that feeds meter banks.
* Looked over fire alarm drawings to:
o Become familiar with the symbols that are being used and to plan my layouts for conduit runs, wire pulls and to get a count of the amount of material needed for job.
* Looked over other drawings (electrical, mechanical, architectural) to:
o Find out ceiling heights, wall dimensions, location of other equipment related to the fire alarm systems and obstructions.
* Read Submittals, which involved:
o Familiarizing myself with the type of devices and equipment being used with the fire alarm system and the dimensions of the devices and equipment.
* Was responsible for layouts, involving:
o Layouts for all floors, walls and ceilings according to fire alarm drawings for the installation of boxes for smoke detectors, speakers, strobes, pull stations, modules, control relays, conduit runs and cable pulls.
* Oversaw all installations
o Made sure all conduit runs wire pulled, cable pulled, boxes mounted, devices and equipment installed was done according to the NEC and NFPA.
* Was responsible for connection of equipment
o Connected all fire alarm control panels, transponders, NAC panels, annunciators, fire pump controller, and all major equipment, plus made sure all devices were hooked up correctly.
* Pre-tested and tested devices and equipment
o Tested all devices and equipment prior to inspection and made sure FACP had a green board. Walked with fire marshal to test all devices and equipment on every floor to make sure the whole fire alarm system was operating properly and to make corrections and changes.

Electrician
* Installed high and low voltage panels, conduit runs and setting transformers.
* Pulled all wire through conduits, numbering all circuits and pulled MC cable as well.
* Installed all lighting high and low voltage, and installed switches for all lighting, plus contactors and time clocks for all switches.

* Familiarized myself with the symbols and layout for floors according to the electrical plans and installed all boxes for devices and set panels.
* Ran conduit for panels, J-boxes, transformers and pulled feed for wires and feeder cables out to J-box locations and pulled branch circuits.
* Installed and wired all switches, plugs, disconnects, panels, transformers as well as wiring and installing all high and low voltage lighting.
Pan American Electric, Glen Burnie, MD November 2003 – November 2004
Fire Alarm Technician
* Ran conduits for fire alarm systems for speakers, strobes, smoke detectors, duct detectors, heat detectors, control relays, modules, and mounted all boxes as well as ran risers from FACR first floor to pent house.
* Pulled all Riser circuits for speakers, phone, strobe trigger circuit and communication. Pulled all circuits for NAC panels, door holders and smoke, heat and duct detectors. Pull stations and phone circuits on all floors, plus elevator shunts and fire pump circuits.
* Installed all speakers, strobes, phones, smoke, heat and duct detectors, pull stations, modules, control relays and addressed all initiating devices.
* Pre-tested and tested all devices on all floors to make sure everything was working properly and to find and troubleshoot any shorts or grounds that might be in the system.
* Traced out pipe runs and drew them on prints including number of circuits and what circuits were in each pipe and J-box for as built drawings.
