Magnet High School, Antioc, California – New School Campus $15M
Russell Ranch Elementary School, California – New 10 acre Campus $19M
Feickert Elementary School, California – Existing Campus Modification $ 9M
Magnet High School is a $15M project on a ten acre site. It is a unique High School as it is being built specifically for students going on to medical school. The project comprised of thirteen buildings, including seven class rooms, a library, an administrative building, a locker room and a steel framed 20,000 sq. ft. gymnasium.
Russell Ranch is a ten acre elementary school built from the ground up. It is located in Folsom, California on a natural asbestos site. To overcome the problem, the site was kept wet, preventing dust from becoming airborne. The air was monitored at all times and every employee on the site received training on N.O.A. (naturally occurring asbestos).
In addition to the asbestos problem, we had ground water at the surface and to a depth of 5’. The project consisted of four classroom buildings, an administrative building and a gymnasium. As is the case with the majority of school projects, it was a twelve month schedule.
Feickert Elementary school was an existing campus and originally consisted of primarily portable buildings. The scope of work was to replace fourteen of the portable buildings with four 12,000 sq. ft. buildings and a new site, which included pavements, sidewalks, parking lots and a playing field. The school is a ‘year round’ campus and construction continued while the school was in session.

Summary of Projects Values
Granite Park Complex, incl. Court House, Office Buildings & Parks $52M
Valspar Paint Factory $ 4M
Granite Park was a design build project, consisting of three 3-storey office buildings and one 4-storey building.
All were tilt-up construction. Building A was 150,000 sq. ft. of office tenant improvements, housing Government offices and a medical insurance company. Building B was 170,000 sq. ft., 3-storey, County Court House, two floors of court rooms, first floor administration with seven elevators and a jail. This was a one year schedule. Building C was 150,000 sq. ft. 4-storey tilt-up, also housing Government offices.
This was the first ever 4-storey tilt-up in Northern California. Building D was a 160,000 sq. ft 3-storey tilt-up, housing Government offices. All the buildings at Granite Park were tilt-up, with a steel frame structure inside and with light-weight concrete pan deck. The third and fourth floor decks were poured first, followed by the removal of the wall bracing and finally the second floor deck was poured. Upon completion of the buildings, we built a 29 acre City regional park and 11 acres of wetlands. The site was located in a gravel quarry and we installed a one acre man-made lake, six football fields and a dog park. We had several civil engineering problems to overcome, including water drainage and landscape irrigation.
Valspar Paint Factory was a 50,000 sq, ft, addition onto the existing distribution building. It housed the bulk tank silos, mixing and processing equipment, as well as the canning facility. It was concrete tilt-up construction with a second floor office and processing area. The main floor of the complex was sloped and to contain the paint if there was a spill, we were not able to cast the wall panels onto the floor. To overcome this problem, we poured “sacrifice” slabs, which we cast the wall panels onto.
