Project Manager - Scope of Hurricane damage (Frances & Jeanne), approximately $46M, along with another PM. We negotiated with Insurance Representatives and made a multi page presentation with photos and back up documentation. All items were finalized within one day of start of negotiations. Worked in the OCC (Outage Control Center) for Projects during the PSL Unit One 20 Outage helping coordinate work on the Condensers, Water Boxes, CCW and in Containment on the “Hot Legs”. Worked as PM with Security, updating security search equipment, (explosive detectors, new x-ray units and metal detectors) helping making plant compliant with 10 CFR 73.55 of NRC regulations. Coordinated with the Training Dept. to train Security Officers on newly installed security equipment. Worked with the Procedures Writers for preventive maintenance of equipment. Contract.
WAL-MART DISTRIBUTION CENTER CONSTRUCTION, Bentonville, Arkansas (Jan /04 to Jan/05)
Construction Manager -Ft. Pierce, Florida 1.2 M SF Distribution Center Approximately $98M. Project was three months behind schedule prior to take-over and brought it in on time, by implementing extra crews and overtime. All site work, interior office work and post hurricanes, (Frances & Jeanne), repairs at over $1.5M. Contract.
TURNER CONSTRUCTION CO., Miami, Florida (5/02 – 4/03
Purchasing Agent - 55 Story Condo ($100 mm), 1 Elementary School ($11 M), 1 Middle School ($22 M), 1 High School ($55M) and a TV Station Retrofit ($3 M). Bought out all of these projects by identifying Sub-contractors wanting to bid, tabulating bids on Excel Spreadsheet, interviewing the lowest bidders, negotiating and writing contracts. Contract.

A. EPSTEIN & SONS, INTL., Chicago, IL (2/97 – 12/99)
Construction Manager/Site Manager/Estimator: - Nogales, Mexico; Brea, California and Chicago. In Mexico, built a five building, 1.65 MM SF industrial complex, including sewage plant, road system, and all civil work (approximately $155 M). Built Albertson Distribution Centers, 1.15 MM SF in Brea CA (tenant improvement $5.5M), 800,000 SF DC in Tulsa, OK (about $38M) and 110,000 SF DC in Memphis, Tenn. (approximately $18M). Submitted many handmade drawings to the Architects and Engineers and 95% of the time were implemented into the drawings. Worked on developing an Excel spreadsheet for the submittal process, (in Excel) to move away from written logs. Saved many hours and expense and still using a version to this day. Direct Hire.

Mechanical Superintendent/Construction Manager - St Lucie Nuclear Power Plant & Turkey Point Nuclear Power Plant, Florida. In charge of Turbine Area of Unit One at St Lucie Power Plant, changing out piping, pumps, instrumentation, etc while unit was down. At Turkey Point was in charge of the same areas, but also had some work in Containment replacing valves and cleaning pipe for X-Rays. Maintained daily reports and reported to Sr. Project Manager. Contract.

Mechanical Superintendent/Manager: Clinton, IL Clinton Nuclear Power Plant (BWR). In charge of all work associated with Safety Relief Valves: removal, testing, repairs as necessary and reinstallation. Also had other areas in Containment where much smaller valves were removed, repaired and replaced and mainly repacked the valves. Contract.

Site Manager/Superintendent - A.E. Staley Manufacturing Plant. In charge of running the mechanical side on a small 180 MgW Co-Gen plant, to generate enough power for their plant and to sell to local power companies. Handled all piping, instrumentation and calibration of equipment. Our Company set the boilers, all cooling pumps and fuel lines, etc. Direct Hire.

Project Superintendent - Security Related Construction at U.S. Embassy, Mexico City. Mostly involved tenant improvements - in the DEA and FBI offices installed security devices and built up security through special sensitive equipment specified by the State Dept. Still considered classified. Approximate cost $6 - $8 M. Contract.
PACIFIC ARCHITECTS & ENGINEERS, Washington, DC (1/86 – 6/87)
Mechanical Superintendent - US Embassy in Moscow, USSR. Various duties included installing security equipment and supervising work on mechanical equipment. Helped with the design on the heat exchangers where the Soviet water heated the Embassy water through the exchangers. The Soviet water was contaminated with Giardia Lamblia, a microscopic parasite that would make the Embassy Staff very ill. We still used Soviet water to drink and use domestically, but through a high filtration system that I worked on with Dr Stan Wolf and other Engineers to make the water reasonably safe, we were able to somewhat keep the instances of contamination to a minimum. In addition, assigned to drive and work with US Ambassador Arthur Hartman for a period of about 4-6 weeks. Accepted additional responsibilities during crucial times in Moscow. Worked with the Secret Service directly while George Schultz, Secretary of State, was visiting the US Embassy in April of ’87. Presented with a 2-page Letter of Commendation from the State Department. Contract.

General Mechanical Superintendent – Responsible for all inside piping at Clinton, IL Nuclear Power Plant (BWR). Managed over 900 fitters and welders. Highly involved in the installation of the condensers, piping and all of the SRVs, (Safety Relief Valves). Helped set up weld testing with QC Dept, did VE in several areas in the plant that were non-security related and had a 100 % injury free safety record the last 8 mos. of work. Direct Hire.
1975 – 1981 Five year apprenticeship program through the Pipe Fitters Union Local #65 Decatur, IL. Worked as a Fitter/Certified Welder during these years at Clinton Nuclear Power Plant and the LaSalle County Nuclear Power Plants in IL during construction and also helped construct the St Lucie Nuclear Plant Unit 2 in Port St Lucie, FL, in addition, worked at the Braidwood Nuclear Power Plant in Braidwood, IL during several shutdowns. Also during this time, worked at A.E. Staley, ADM, Firestone Tire & Rubber, PPG and Caterpillar, this included working refinery shutdowns, production shutdowns and whole new lines of production.
