Dear Sir/Madam:
If you can use a responsible residential/commercial construction carpenter to help contribute to the quality of your operations, then please review the enclosed résumé and consider me as an applicant.
As you can see from the résumé, my background includes extensive carpentry experience. In my most recent position with a large construction company, I worked overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan LOGCAP. At these locations I performed maintenance on housing for the military(CHU's), maintenance on office buildings and absolution units. All work was in accordance with Military Scope of Work Guidelines(MSOW). Not only did I perform hands-on carpentry work–building, repairing, and maintaining military facilities, but I also trained the civilian workforce.
Prior to my overseas experience, I was a residential/commercial construction carpenter with more than twenty years experience and operated a residential and commercial construction business. In this capacity, I hired, trained, and supervised carpenters and other tradesmen as well as coordinated and inspected work with contractors, subcontractors, architects, and customers on new construction and remodeling projects. All of these experiences have helped me hone not only my technical expertise in the industry, but also my interpersonal skills–communicating with diverse groups of people from all backgrounds.
I feel that the above qualities, coupled with my extensive experience and effective organizational and time management skills, would make me an excellent candidate for a position as a carpenter with your company. I have the flexibility to travel as needed.
Since some qualifications are better explained in person, please call me at (318) 505-4045 so that we can arrange a time to discuss putting my skills and experience to work for you. Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to your call.
Sincerely,
John A. Joyner
