ORNL Office of Program Management and Capital Assets Planning operated by Lockheed Martin Energy Systems. Refined ORNL’s Facilities Planning Best Practices through collaboration and sharing information with other DOE sites. Results oriented management; maximizing resources and streamlining the procurement process, achieving time and cost savings by bundling small projects into larger unit price contracts. Cost savings of $500K to 1M per year were achieved from year end infrastructure projects of $5M per year (20%).
• Managed ADA Program increasing in-place projects from $50K yr to $500K yr.
• Rescued 4.3M Lost Funding for Capital Line Item Project; New Design wins DOE buy-in for unprecedented 2 year turnaround and successful completion of failing project. Building currently houses ORNL Partners.
• Recycled Construction Waste to prepare future project sites. Disposal fees were redirected for construction of temporary parking toward future expansion which resulted in savings of $500K per year.
• Avoided $1M Cost for Biology Center by avoiding environmental conflicts.
