EDUCATION
Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering
Osmania University, India 2002
Masters in Civil Engineering
Lamar University, Beaumont, TX 2006
EXPERIENCE
Jacobs Engineering Group, Houston TX 2006 - 2009
Motiva Crude Expansion Project, Port Arthur
• Design of pipe racks, vertical vessels, pump foundations and exchangers
• MPS and major access platforms for tank farms and design tank support foundations.
• Review geo-technical reports from contractors to analyze and provide corresponding design requirements and standards
• Supervise drafting of engineering drawings and checking for errors and compliance with codes
• Involved in model review meetings with clients to discuss amicable and cost efficient design solutions; providing solutions for access and egress in congested areas and analyzing existing structures with assistance of Smart Plant Review and Laser Scan and actively participated in tasks to improvise design and drafting schedules enabling faster design packages for construction.
• Work also involved assisting designers in 3d modeling in Frameworks/PDS to provide client with design ideology for further development.
• Worked with domestic and international steel standard shapes and analyze for design.
• Worked with field engineers and contractors to respond actively and efficiently to RFI’s and provide solutions to resolve any issues in construction. Work involved heavily in checking shop drawings and reverting back to the fabricator with changes and/or corrections in detailing of steel.
Valero Refinery, Corpus Christi and Aruba
• Work involved assisting senior and supervising engineers with design calculations for vessels and pipe racks.
• Involved in Design and checking new vertical and horizontal vessel foundation designs and preparing for documentation of calculations for clients and reviews.
BP Refinery, Texas City, TX
• Work involved walk down and inspection of the Refinery facility for compliance with OSHA requirements for access and egress standards in case of emergencies
• Inspection, analysis and retrofit existing structures for failure assessment and redesign of existing pipe racks for new loads; inspection of existing structures for fireproofing failure and checking connections in structures for any failure.
• Assisted field and supervising engineers in providing cost efficient ideas and analysis/design solutions for amicable results.
ACADEMIC KNOWLEDGE
• Graduate coursework included Steel Design, Reinforced Concrete Design, Hydrology and fluid mechanics, geotechnical engineering and foundation engineering.
• Software knowledge includes HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, Pro-E wildfire, AutoDesk Inventor, Solidworks, MatLab and MathCAD, Risa 3D, Etabs, SACS v5.2 & GT Strudl.
