Construction Site Manager
Managed an excess of 30 sub contractors averaging more than 250 workers daily and subordinate staff in constructing a 435,000 sq. ft. shopping center including 48 acres of clearing and new infrastructure. Scheduled and managed utility crews during the installation of electrical power (overhead & underground), gas service, water (domestic & fire including fire pump station) sanitary sewer system, storm drain system including two retention ponds, telephone service (overhead and underground). Reviewed drawings assuring proper layout (surveying) of utilities and building locations. Reviewed specifications and approvals making sure approved materials & methods were used. Made daily inspections of site for proper drainage at the end of the day, ensuring SWPPP was in compliance with N.P.D.E.S. permit regulations. Offsite included state highway widening & new traffic signal. $40 million project.
* Met with utility co. designers & engineers to coordinate installation of utilities so as to avert conflicts
* Scheduled and managed site clearing of 48 acres of forest land
* Scheduled and managed Geotechnical services for analysis of soils for design purposes, testing of soils assuring installation of fill materials, footer & foundation excavations met design specs. Lead Superintendent over two subordinates during the construction of a 896,000 sq. ft. Food Distribution Center for Wal-Mart. Project included 166 acres of new infrastructure. Reviewed drawings for conflicts in installation of underground utilities including: phones, electric with two backup generators, domestic water, fire water loop (about 2 miles) 250,000 gallon storage tank and dual fire pumps (electric & diesel) 34 fire risers, wet & dry systems, sanitary sewer with 35’ deep lift station and storm system with 5 detention ponds. Coordinated efforts in moving of 1.2 million cu. yds. of dirt. Managed deep dynamic compaction contractor. Scheduled and coordinated geotechnical services for testing & analysis of soils, concrete & asphalt installations. $85 million project.
