 Owner of a general contracting firm performing work in the commercial, industrial, retail and restaurant industries. Successfully built our firm by meeting all of our clients needs in a timely and cost efficient manner thus generating repeat and referral business. Approximately 75% of our projects have been through repeat and referrals.
 Responsible for business development and pre-construction services. Prepared estimates and defined project budgets utilizing value engineering and close collaboration with clients. Provide constructability reviews and risk assessment to develop a concise path of project execution.
 Perform project management to include contract administration, document control, materials procurement and logistics, maintain and update project schedules, sub-contractor coordination, negotiate change orders and perform dispute resolution, create and maintain relationships with local building officials, ensure a project safe environment and project close out to client’s satisfaction.
 Manage our accounting system including progress invoicing, collections and accounts payable.

8/02 – 9/03 Estimator/Scheduler/Procurement
 Reported to President and General Manager.
 Performed all aspects of estimating and prepared budgets for multi-family housing projects including market rate apartments, student housing, condominiums and town-homes. Projects were in various locations throughout North & South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Alabama and Florida and ranged from $3M to $25MM.
 Created and maintained a database within the Timberline estimating system for the purpose of building estimating models. By implementing the use of models, it enabled me to produce project budgets more efficiently.
 Introduced the use of digitized material take-offs.
 Procurement duties included issuance of all purchase orders for building components wide as well as vendor price negotiation.
 Responsible for updating production schedules for all projects. The schedules were presented, reviewed and discussed at a weekly teleconference with all branch offices. These involved approximately 15 projects on a regular basis.
 Assisted in training accounting and field personnel in Timberline estimating and accounting software.

 Reported to Vice President and Chief Estimator
 Performed quantity take off, bid preparation and project budgeting for hard bid and negotiated projects in the commercial, industrial and institutional arenas for projects ranging from $250K to $15MM.
 Participated in the company’s construction management of Guilford County School’s $300M bond school expansion program.
 Improved quantity survey preparation time by implementing the use of digitized take-off equipment (GTCO).

 Reported to President and Sr. Vice President of Operations.
 Pre-construction and estimating activities for hard bid, negotiated and conceptual projects in the industrial, commercial and healthcare industries for projects ranging from $50K to $20MM.
 Other responsibilities included project budgeting and procurement, prepare client proposals, contract negotiation with vendors, change order negotiation and project value engineering. Utilized MC2 estimating software.
 Improved upon the company’s MC2 estimating database by configuring models within the system. The creation of models for standard building components reduced the preparation time for estimates.
