GMC Construction: Gainesville, Florida – Project Superintendent
Project Superintendent for the remainder of a project where the former project manager had been terminated. Mr. Dorsey came on board in the midst of major problems as the former manager had been delinquent in his duties. The project was brought in on time and LEED certified with the help and the cohesion of the subcontractors who wanted to see this project succeed.
Dorsey Drywall, Inc.: Micanopy, Florida - Owner
Owner of Dorsey Drywall, Inc. DDI did all phases of drywall for commercial construction. DDI installed drywall, veneer plaster, metal studs, EIFS and stucco. Mr. Dorsey estimated and managed all projects from beginning to end.

Alachua Country Sheriffs Office – Gainesville, Florida
$5 million Renovation of an existing storefront to the Alachua County Sheriffs Office
Lake City Doctors Plaza - Lake City, Florida
$200,000 Construction of a doctor’s office complex and maintenance shop.
Santa Fe Community College Baseball Complex Addition – Gainesville, Florida
$30,000 Construction of a concession and storage building complex
Residential Homes – Gainesville, Florida

Commercial Drywall & Plastering: Micanopy, Florida Project Manager
Mr. Dorsey worked as a project manager & estimator, bidding projects for commercial buildings, hospitals, prisons and schools. Responsibilities included but were not limited to estimating and bidding projects, weekly field meetings and inspections, supplying jobs with labor, materials and equipment, working as liaison between the field personnel and the office. Mr. Dorsey also implemented an OSHA Safety Program and became their safety director in addition to his other duties.
Projects are as follows:
Coleman Federal Prison – Coleman, Florida
$40 million Construction of eighteen buildings, three dormitory style (5)floors, (3) wings, administration office and various single story maintenance, storage and repair shops.
Alachua County Jail Complex – Gainesville, Florida
$20 million construction of a new jail complex consisting of (3) 2 story inmate pods and an administration building, cafeteria and five maintenance shops.
Orlando Regional Medical Center - Orlando , Florida
$110 million renovation of (3) five story wings of existing hospital along with the addition of a new entrance and the construction of a new four story Cancer Center.
Ocoee Regional Medical Center – Ocoee, Florida
$60 million construction of new seven story, three wing hospital with a heliport landing and separate maintenance building.
University of Florida Library Renovation –Gainesville, Florida
$10 million renovation of an existing five story library building. The renovation also consisted of incorporating one wing of the building into a controlled temperature archive storage facility.
CRS Sirene: Gainesville, Florida 1986-1991 – Assistant Project manager
Mr. Dorsey worked as an Assistant Project Manager as well as a scheduler/safety officer for this construction management company. Mr. Dorsey generated weekly job schedules which were used for staff meetings each Monday morning. These staff meetings included over 50 contractors on the project. Mr. Dorsey oversaw all HRS inspections and resolved any problems. He also helped review all change orders and shop drawings as they were submitted by the subcontractor.
Project range was a $135,000,000 renovation and addition to Shands Hospital at the University of Florida.
