JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIAN, TC Electric, operating out of the SF Design Center, San Fran, CA March 1989 to March 1998
Supervised and installed electrical work for continuous showroom remodels and several capital improvement projects in an ongoing effort to upgrade and improve a cluster of historic buildings in which the SF Design Center and Concourse Exhibition Center are housed. Capital improvements of these buildings included large power distribution: 400 amp long runs and their distribution, 600 amp long runs and their distribution, 60 to 200 amp sub- panels throughout the buildings; construction of a new glass elevator, new executive offices, showrooms and the front lobbies of two design center buildings.
The first several years I worked with three journeyman electricians who taught me problem-solving skills, circuiting, plan reading, and panel work in addition to telephone and data wiring.
PROJECTS OF NOTE:
 Material ordering and power distribution for a 200,000 square foot building.
 Assisted in the project design and construction of a new 3,000 amp main service to replace an old and failing one. Equipment included 4 pieces of switch gear and a 500 kva transformer. The project was a one week $90,000 job that was completed on time and in a clean, well thought out manner.
 Telephone and data moves for nearly 100 tenants displaced during a two year seismic retrofit project in which we upgraded two old San Francisco warehouse buildings to current seismic specifications. I interacted with showroom personnel and maintained owner/tenant relations.
 4-week project which entailed building the electrical infrastructure for a commercial print shop. Ran electrical transformers and distribution for 2 four-color and 1 six color Guttenberg printing presses.
 15 plus mid-sized to large telephone and data distribution jobs for showrooms within the SF Design Center, real estate offices and a few internet companies.
 Over 30 residential jobs ranging from adding plugs and switches to remodels of bathrooms and kitchens to complete home remodels.
 Supervised crew of contract electricians to rebuild after a huge fire in the SF Design Center Galleria building. Designed all wiring and conduit work to restore and upgrade electrical distribution, which included adding energy management, new hall lighting, lighting controls, and replacement of many panels and transformers throughout the building.
