There were special challenges due to design deficiencies, sub contractor issues and scope issues left by failed contractor. Project was completed on time and to the satisfaction of all parties.

Newton Builders, Inc. is a local general contractor established in 1974 and provides general contracting services in the Charleston area.
Successfully estimated and completed projects including shopping centers, veterinary clinics and college dormitories. Constructed a unique college dorm for The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina. Completed project on time despite failure of the conventional concrete forming subcontractor. Project utilized tunnel forms and we succeeded in making our twenty-four hour turn around pour times.

Completed design / build projects providing turnkey services from conceptual budgets to project turn over, to include complete estimating, scheduling and on-site management. All design / build projects were completed on time and within budget, maintaining or increasing fee. Project completion being paramount, on occasion overcame potential delays, including design team, subcontractor and weather problems. Examples: replaced a part of an original design team in order to stay on schedule, used work a rounds in the schedule to keep the project on schedule when weather caused delays.

Project Engineer on a $17,200,000.00 airport terminal. Reviewed and coordinated shop drawings (including architectural precast, metal building panels, Jetways), submittals, RFI's, quality control inspections and maintained testing logs and scheduled testing. Provided hands on supervision of reinforcing installation crews due to the sophistication of rebar placement details. Furthered estimating skills assisting estimating department in Clearwater Florida on major projects.

Southern Construction Management was a local construction management company.
On-site project manager for a construction management company. Provided budget estimates as well as Value Engineering analysis of completed designs. Conducted monthly meetings with owners and provided monthly reports updating school boards. On several occasions had to confront subcontractor deficiencies, including failing subs.
