Year One: Introduction to Professional Electricity (Completed with 94% (A-)); Year Two: Transformers, AC Theory and Motor Control, Wiring, and Diagrams (Completed with 93% (B+)). As Electrician’s Helper, I installed underground duct bank PVC/rigged conduit; pulling wire; above ground conduit; PVC, Electrical Metallic Tubing (EMT), rigid conduit; lighting installations both indoors and outdoors; all commercial 120V, 240V, 277V, and 480V systems. Site lighting installations; Pole bases and concrete service pads and set poles; all work done from ground up; services 600AMP and below. Ball Field installations worked from ground up and maintenance (MUSCO sports lighting systems) required to work out of bucket trucks, as well as climbing 100 feet; concrete and aluminum ball-field poles. Locate underground private utilities and underground faults, as well as repair. Experienced operating jack-hammer, demo saw, JLG lift, 75 footer inside and out; operate bucket truck, bobcat, forklift, core drills and other air-operated tools; not afraid to run a shovel and digging bar as well as dig behind machines ensuring machines do not come in contact with unmarked under-ground utilities. Stop/Start stations – some experience with Fire Alarms, Familiar with Fire Alarm Annunciators – Honeywell/Altronix Systems; Fire Alarm Inspections for Fairfax County Public Schools, as well as trouble shooting FACP Panels in trouble or alarm. “Received Homeland Security (HS) Clearance†while working on Federal Training Facilities in Maryland, Project for Capital Police. Jan 2004 to Jul 2007: Springfield Mall, Engineering Department, Springfield, VA 22952; Mr. Michael Lowell, Director of Operation; 703-971-3000s. (This job over-lapped with RE Electrical for four months working full time at both positions). As Engineer in Training, I performed mechanical, electrical and plumbing duties; first response to fire alarms, worked with fire Department and Security when Fire Alarm alert; lighting maintenance both inside and out. Serviced parking lot pole lights, replaced lamps, ballasts of JLG Lift; operated lift inside mall for lighting maintenance as well as yearly fire alarm inspections with Fire Marshall. Some work with HVAC, trouble-shooting, replacing filters, belts; replacing check valves for chillers. Monitor chillers, boilers, cooling towers, and respond to all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing emergencies in/out of Mall building. Required to run operations of Mall building ‘solo’ both on weekends and holidays. Checked operations of escalators, elevators before hours of operation/during hours of operations; placed service calls when necessary.
Meet with private contractors for locations of electrical disconnects, water, sewer, and communications locations. Reason for leaving: To accept Electrician Training position with RE Electric.
2001-2002 High Noon (4 Diamond Restaurant), Michigan Avenue, Battle Creek, MI 49017, Chef Don; 40+ Hours Per Week
Trained under tutelage of Chef Don; finished certification through High Noon, completed through Culinary Institute of America. Chef Don presented all tests and homework, daily duties; I worked directly under the Sous Chef and Executive Chef; I handled the chefs for day time service and prep; I was the pastry chef for afternoon and evening dinner services. I was responsible for all prepping and providing dessert station including sauces and garnishes. Reason for Leaving: Restaurant changed hands.
