Summary
Graduated in 1979 from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management. Since graduation I have worked in the residential and commercial construction industry in varying degrees. In 1989 I pursued a second Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy graduating from Louisiana State University Medical Center New Orleans. After obtaining my B.S. degree in Physical Therapy from LSU, I worked as a Physical Therapist from 1989 – 2003, but also stayed active in construction in varying degrees. My passion for construction brought me back full time in the industry in 2003, as I started my own company and worked mainly in upper end custom home market. I am currently contracting to LOOP LLC as their on-site construction manager for the building of their 18 million dollar Corporate Headquarters in Covington, La.
Professional Experience
Aug.08 – Pre I am currently working as a construction manager; serving as the
owner’s on site representative on an 18 million dollar corporate
headquarter building. My responsibility is to assure owner that
project is being built according to plans and specifications. I have
a good relationship with contractor and have helped with layout,
submittals, and drawing interpretation.
2003- Aug. 08 Own and operate my own construction company, Emerald Builders Inc.
I have built or remodeled several upper end homes in the old Metairie
area. I have also completed many smaller projects in this period.
I perform a large portion of the work on many of my projects and
have become skilled in many trades.
1989- 2003 Worked as Physical Therapist in several settings in the new Orleans area.
During this period, I stayed active in construction building my home
from the ground up and many other projects.
1979- 1989 After graduation from LSU in construction, I worked in several
areas of construction which includes the following:
Department Engineer- Mid-Gulf Construction Co. Highway and
Heavy construction department- In this capacity, I worked
on estimates, provided field supervision, and helped with
many other activities in department.
Project Engineer- Gervais Favrot Construction Co.- Engineer on
1615 Poydras Building, New Orleans. I was responsible for
providing all lines and elevations needed for construction,
as well as needed material take offs.
Gould Builders- Self employed doing mostly small remodeling
jobs. During this period, I performed all of the work
needed to complete projects.
Glu-Lam Truss Specialists- Lead carpenter for commercial jobs in
Colorado Springs area. The company specialized in
erection of laminated wood beams, but also performed
needed carpentry work for commercial projects.
1975-1979 Learned carpentry and other trades working for residential builder in New
Orleans during summers and brakes while in college.
