Worked extensively with architects, engineers, city planners, real estate agents, general contractors, and sub-contractors to acquire suitable property, determine building design and placement, and to design, develop, acquire, place, and install fixtures for complete internal build out of each building. Supervised a staff of 15 employees and reported to the Vice President – West Coast.
Operational Successes:
• Planned and administered $64M by establishing 1-, 3-, and 5-year budgets, including Store Planning payroll, equipment needs, and travel requirements, for each project.
• Met company President’s challenge to locate and acquire a carpet measuring device that would satisfy State of California’s certification requirements. Installation of the prototype machine in a Sacramento store met requirements and saved the company an estimated $500K annually.
• Contributed to the launch of EXPO Design Center as a new division of The Home Depot by participating in the development of the hugely successful prototype concept store in San Diego.
