In twenty-six years of industry experience, I have worked eighteen years as a commercial refrigeration tech. The latter years I moved to the air side of the mechanical business as a tech/pipefitter. During this time I had also become familiar with the management end of the business. My most recent experience is in the controls business, in project management, handling several multi-million contracts at one time. My portfolio included up to $40 million in contracts, working simultaneously. I handled all aspects including company manpower scheduling pertaining to each job, hiring (and removing when necessary) subcontractors, financial negotiations with subcontractors and contractors including change orders, and the interpretation of contracts.
Because of my hands-on experience, I understand the order and the timing of the construction process from the ground up including tenant fit-outs. This prevents me from being “mislead†by contractors and manpower.
I was a card-carrying member of Local 9 from 1989 through 2003. This has helped me have a great rapport with the men assigned to my projects and I have a grasp of the limitations and loopholes of their contracts. I have found this keeps everyone out of trouble.
I am detail oriented, punctual, loyal, and know how to get things done using my management skills. I am a no-nonsense kind of man.
