GRADUATE COURSE PROJECT
Structural evaluation and retrofitting of three story pre-cast concrete building using FEMA 154. Spring 2009
• Conducted the Tier 1 rapid visual screening Phase
• Formulated the Mathematical Model, using SAP2000
Modeling of triple friction Pendulum, base isolator in SAP 2000, for a four story steel structure and performing a technical documentation of a seismic isolation system for a building structure. Spring 2009
• Selected frictional properties for the isolators
• Performed static analysis per ASCE7-05 and calculated the response in DBE and MCE
• Selected seven ground motions and scaled them to represent the DBE and MCE spectra for dynamic response history analysis and Performed response history analysis.
• Compared the results of response history analysis to static analysis
• Presented a comprehensive report of the analysis.
