Murphy Construction Services, Inc. Plantation, FL
Superintendent/Lead Carpenter 07/2003 to 01/2009
• Built structures such as concrete forms, scaffolds, new roof trusses with sheathing, remodeled homes, and custom homes according to sketches, blueprints and oral instructions.
• Examined specifications to determine dimensions of structure and worked the job as a working superintendent.
• Worked commercial jobs as mainly high end finish carpenters with some rough carpentry involved. Predominately of the commercial work was tenant fit outs, with some restaurants where we did high end finish carpentry with interior glass windows, and a lot of free standing, wall mounted, floor mounted, and ceiling mounted fixtures in the front and the back of the house.
• Assisted superiors in directing daily activities of workers concerned with construction of buildings and homes, and other construction projects. I was sent to continuing education classes so that I could be the estimator and write the contracts. I passed and immediately was put into that role along with being the superintendent/project manager
