As a Structural Designer I worked with the Engineer in designing the
Cold-Formed Metal Framing Shop Drawings for Commercial and Retail
buildings using AutoCAD 2002 LT and then upgrading to Architecture
2008. I would draw the Floor plans, Roof plans, sections and details
as shown by the Architectural and Structural Drawings pertaining to
the Cold-Formed Metal Framing.
I drew structural drawings such as: Foundation Plans, Floor Framing
Plans, Roof Framing Plans, Sections and Details sheets.
I performed Special Inspections on foundations (reinforcing bars,
proper clearances and anchor bolt placement), concrete slabs
(Welded Wire Fabric), Steel (columns and beams and their locations
and sizes), metal floor and roof decks, joists, and cold-formed
metal framing (proper sizes, spacing, connections and bridging).
As CAD Manager my responsibilities were setting up and maintaining
CAD Standards and Layers, also, managing the Server, three computer
stations and two Printers.

Work consisted of Architectural layout and design of Residential,
Commercial and Retail buildings and their associated parking lots
using Architectural Desktop 2005 and SketchUp. The design/drafting
consisted of the following:
* layout of buildings, parking spaces and the amount and type of
green space needed on the associated site plan.
* 3D modeling consisting of: Walls and their associated windows and
doors. Connecting floors and roofs to the walls. Using door, window
and wall tags and associating them to their appropriate schedules.
Connecting the tags and schedules to the 3D model. Modifying tags and
schedules.
* Design of the buildings in collaboration with the Architect and the
Owners using approved BOCO, IBC2003, IRC2003, and ADA Accessibility
codes. Codes such as:
* Construction Type, Use and Occupancy, Means of Egress, Fire Walls
and Fire Resistance Ratings, Separation Walls, Interior and Exterior
finishes, Max Floor Area Allowance, to name a few.
* CAD Management which consisted of setting up CAD Standards and
Layers and managing up to 8 computer stations plus the Server.

Computer Aided Drafting/Design. CAD Drawings consisting of buildings
(Example: Houses, schools, apartments, motels, hotels, condominiums,
churches, commercial and industrial buildings, etc.), piers and docks
(wood and Concrete), retaining walls, coal pier conveyors, loading docks,

framing and steel framing), Sections (foundation, floor framing, roof
framing, building), Details, Notes, and Sketches.
On site inspections of reinforcing steel in concrete slabs and walls,
cmu walls, deck welds, joist to column welds, and steel beam to steel beam
welds/connections. I performed inspections of shop drawings for proper
layout, size, and amount of reinforcing, and proper size and layout of
concrete masonry units, steel columns, foundations, beams, studs, and joists.
