Laser Processing System Engineer
· Lead multiple systems research and development of laser material interaction process of fuel system miniature components and features; in charge of material property analysis and laser system evaluation to formulate project plan of system design and modification.
· Initiate effort in exploration of different optical apparatus for precise laser machining, including galvonometer, trepan and beam shaper etc. Lead research in factorial study of laser beam feature and fiber selection; manage the project and coordinate multidisciplinary development.
· Design electro-optical components and controls for b level laser system; direct the validation experiments and R&R test; implement developed technology into production treatment of advanced alloys, polymer, ceramics and glass.
· Supervise design and control of external optical instrumentation; select electrical controller, communication protocol and HMI for commercialized system; demonstrate in-house production capability of instrument within desired specs.
· Manage multiple laser processing projects, including laser drilling, scribing, annealing, welding, shock peening and micromachining. Responsible for funding management, task assignment, technical review and interdisciplinary communication.
· Organize corporate level laser micro-machining R&D program; apply 6-Sigma principles to laser process development and technical transfer to production.
