*North Ohio Heart Center/Ohio Medical Group
*2004-2010 - Cardiac Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Responsible for providing complete technology support services to patients in a Cardiac center including preparing and administering nuclear and regular stress testing, conducting medical history interviews, preparing patients for EKG’s, maintaining records, taking vital signs and maintaining liaison with medical personnel. Making sure the quality assurance testing for the camera/equipment was completed in a timely fashion so the correct mechanical requirements were met for a proper running department.
*Shared P.E.T Imaging, Canton, Ohio
*2001-2003 - PET Nuclear Medicine Technologist
A lot of travel time to various sites/hospitals in Ohio for this mobile company. Working with the oncology side of nuclear medicine, performing PET scans lead to a new education level as a technologist. Knowing how important a patient medical history was and the crucial elements needed for PET scanning. Checking blood glucose levels, inserting intravenous lines, and ensuring all mobile operations were running at optimal efficient levels were duties for a technologist. Understanding the higher radiation levels used in PET scanning was an important key factor that needed to be respected for the safety of personnel and patients.
*Elyria Memorial Hospital, Elyria, Ohio
*1999-2001 - Nuclear Medicine Technologist
General/Cardiac Nuclear Medicine testing with a lot of time spent with hands on patient care. Another key element was the knowledge of quality control testing for camera accuracy and proficiency. Intravenous (IV) injections of radioactive isotopes were also duties as a technologist. Taking part in an ON-CALL rotation for emergency testing gained independence and technologist/doctor interaction.
*Aultman Hospital, Canton, Ohio
*1998-1999 - Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Many of the same duties as described from above applied to this hospital also. This was an exceptional opportunity for a technologist to learn and grow coming out of a clinical setting. Nine cameras needed to be learned in a fast paced department setting, where hard work and time management was a must.
Education:
*Lorain County Community College/ Findlay University-Nuclear Medicine Institute
*1994-1998 - Associate of Technical Studies/ Certificate in Nuclear Medicine
