I am looking to use my experience with a progressive consulting firm or institution to help them to progress their project or facilities management. I am looking for new career challenges and opportunities in the areas of energy conservation, renewables projects, engineering design, troubleshooting of complex systems, and delivery of outstanding projects or services. Love daily learning and constant business if includes intellectual challenges.
Accomplishments
Energy Projects Improved the effectiveness of aging central plant, developed a utility master plan and have taken steps to modernize and extend it to support 50% more of the campus. In 10 years, have reduced total annual energy consumption by 15% while campus has grown by 50%. Engineered and installed an 840KW cogeneration plant capable of providing 95% of our electricity and running with thermal efficiencies between 60 and 80%. Recovered energy heats our pool, library, two dormitories, all our domestic hot water, and provides 100 tons of cooling (now officially Trigen). It saved $1.7M in first five and a half years, fully paying for itself. Implemented aggressive energy management enhancements that allow maximum savings while providing the best possible air and comfort for the building occupants. Recently we have installed hundreds of LED fixtures that enhance lighting quality while reducing energy use by 50-70%.
Sustainability Advisor for “Project Greenâ€, the Student Environmental club. Involve the students and faculty in energy reduction competitions (Green Cup Challenge and Dorm Energy Challenge). Report recycling statistics to students and faculty. Spearheaded the creation of the campus sustainability committee in 2008. Added “green†building initiatives into our Campus construction and renovation standards. Designed and built a sustainable parking lot. Implementing dark sky compliant lighting standards on campus. Replaced 90% of our campus service vehicle fleet to electric carts. Converted to nearly 100% organic turf care. Pesticide use is down by 90%. Just awarded a $520K grant for the installation of a 145KW photovoltaic solar system on campus. Received LEED AP in 2009 and studying for my CEM designation.

Worked with supervisors to find ways to continuously improve performance and customer service. Implemented systems to track repairs and work requests, deferred maintenance, energy consumption, vehicle use, and facilities use. Managed major changes to the Grounds and Campus Safety departments substantially enhancing their professionalism and capabilities. Involved from concept to completion on 12 renovation or new construction projects over $1M each. Past President of Association of Physical Plant Officers.
