As a Senior Structural Engineer, involved in the design of Hamilton and Southwest Sewage Marine Transfer Plants located in the New York City vicinity, responsible for structural modeling, analysis and design calculation for the foundation system to support the process buildings, and equipments. The foundation system consists of deep piles supporting grade beams, and a localized box-girder structure, which was required to bridging over the existing sewage receiving pit. A pier equipped with a 60-ton gantry crane was placed in between each plant and the river to handle the storage requirement and the transfer of the sewage to the carriers. The foundation system developed was proposed as the model plan for the remaining plants throughout this region.
