Dear Manager:
This letter serves to communicate my interest in your Estimator position that is currently open within your company. I have over 15 years of experience in engineering design, estimating, construction and management. I have a special interest in and cost estimating. I worked 3 years in the San Jose area with Joe Hernandez and Associates an architectural, engineering and construction firm. Here I was responsible for engineering designs and cost controls of grading, structural, plumbing and HVAC of commercial, industrial and residential projects. These projects include: Senior Center, County Money Counting Bldg., Orthopedic Clinic and office building. I have also worked 5 years with Lockheed Missiles & Space Company in their Architectural/Engineering department in Sunny vale CA. Here, I worked very closely with both the architectural and engineering groups and provided cost value-engineering recommendations during the design stage of the projects. I monitored and saved 1 million dollars in the design and construction of a 2-story design/build specialty laboratories building in Palo Alto CA. In the 5 years I was also involve in the scheduling and monitoring of all new and renovated buildings relative to cost controls, budgets and construction.
My enclose resume highlights some of the key projects I have completed. My extensive experience in design cost estimating, engineering and focus on details gives me the ability to prepare Budgets, Conceptual, Schematic, DD, CD, Change order reviews and Claims Analysis and Resolutions for these types of estimates.
Finally, I am confident that my background and extensive experience in Cost estimating and Construction Management will fit well with the cost estimator position and with the company’s culture and delivery of construction services.
Again, thank you for your consideration, if you need any additional information from me please feel free to call me at my cell (323) 356-7403. I am available for an interview at your convenience. I am looking forward to meeting you personally, joining your organization and becoming part of the team.
Regards,
Miguel J. Mora
