EXPERIENCE:
July 2008 to Present: Consultant for construction management and estimating for various small construction companies, involving site development and construction, roadway construction, earthmoving, drainage systems construction, underground utilities, concrete and asphalt paving. Working at the NAS in May Port and NAS Jacksonville, as well as, the private sectors in Jacksonville, Florida.
December 1995 to July 2008: As President/Director of Operations for InterTech, Inc. I managed the business, all construction activities, marketing of professional engineering consulting services for the design of roadway lighting, traffic signalization and Landscape Architectural, as well as, Construction Engineering Inspection services (CEI) for multimillion-dollar projects. The company prospered from it initial $250,000 annual revenue to $15,000,000 in less than 11 years.
September 1989 to December 1995: President and Director of Operations for Dynatech Contracting, Inc., a design/built electrical contracting Florida corporation. In addition to managing the company, my responsibilities included the execution and management of contracts. Some of the major projects included the roadway lighting and box girder tunnel inspection lighting of the Acosta Bridge in Jacksonville, Florida and the C & D Canal Bridge in Middletown, Delaware. The successful completions and a job well done of the Acosta Bride project, lead to the awarding of the C & D Canal Bridge project in Delaware to my company.

September 1984 to May 1996: Field Engineer/Resident Engineer for Sverdrup Corporation: Worked on the following projects:
December 1995 to May 1996: Field engineer, attached to the Army Corp of Engineers, supervised the construction of site, infrastructure and seven industrial buildings for the Homestead Air Force Base in Homestead, Florida, after hurricane Andrew.
March 1995 to November 1995: Resident Engineer supervised the construction of the Florida Department of Transportation, District Two’s St. Augustine Maintenance Yard Improvements.
1987 to 1995: Resident Engineer/Project Engineer. Responsible for the construction supervision of the following projects for the Jacksonville Transportation Authority in Jacksonville, Florida.
· 15 miles of SR-9A bridges and roadway widening and improvements, from Merrill Rd to I-95. These projects included; Interchanges, approaches and construction of the new cable suspended bridge over the St. Johns River, including traffic signalization, roadway lighting, signing and pavement markings. The total cost for these awarded wining projects was 150 million dollars.
· 3 miles of SR-13 Improvements, from I-295 to Sunbeam Road.
· 4 miles of SR-115 from the Avenues mall to Baymeadows Road.
· 1.6 miles of existing roadway and bridge widening and a new bridge for the Butler Boulevard/Gate Parkway Interchange.
· I-95 Trout River Toll Plaza Removal and Interchange Improvements.
All these projects were completed as scheduled and with substantial savings to the Authority.
1986 to 1987: Resident Engineer for various industrial buildings at Kings Bay Naval Nuclear Submarine Base at Kings Bay, Georgia. Responsibilities included; Monitoring construction compliance and contractor's quality control, reviewing constructability and environmental requirements of assigned construction contracts. Total project cost 5 Billion dollars.
1984 to 1986: Lead Mechanical Designer and Field Engineer for a $43 million design/built project for CSX Transportation R/R Corbin Yard Facility in Corbin, Kentucky. Project Included the construction of the locomotive maintenance and refueling buildings, storage yard, waste treatment plant and all mechanical/electrical systems, such as, fully automated robotic locomotive washing system, storage and distribution systems for locomotive diesel fuel, lubricating oil, journal oil and antifreeze/cooling liquids.
This project was my last design and my first construction project. The owner was extremely impressed.
1983 to 1984: Gee and Jenson Engineers, Architects and Planners, Inc. Responsible for land developments, roadways/highways projects design and for mechanical and electrical systems design for commercial & industrial buildings.
1980 to 1983: Burns and Roe Engineers and Constructors. Mechanical systems design for two 300 Megawatts fossil fuel power plants in Palatka, Florida and two 250 Megawatts in Venezuela, S. A. In addition, I translated the project specifications and drawings notations from English to Spanish for the Venezuelan project.
1978 to 1980: Sverdrup & Parcel Engineers, Architects & Planners. Design mechanical systems for buildings, such as, HVAC, plumbing and material handling piping. The major clients were Southern Bell Telephone Co., Winn-Dixie supermarket stores, NAS at May Port and NAS at US-17 in Jacksonville, Florida.
