OBJECTIVE
What surely is the most important at the beginning: I am authorized to work in the USA as a permanent resident (green card and social security number). I can also deliver credential evaluation prepared by WES (www.wes.org) to prove my education (PhD degree).
I am passionate about joining structural engineering knowledge with computers. If only it is possible and desirable I write my own software to solve the task. Nevertheless I can easily calculate many structures having only a piece of paper. For a whole life I have been trying to do the best in all I have been doing. Engineering is my passion and the only problem is to find a company in the USA which allows me to show my skills.
Working in the USA and living in this country is the thing I have been preparing myself for years. Although I may still develop my career in Poland, I want to check myself out in a foreign country to show what polish education means, and to give my children a chance for a better future.

WORK EXPERIENCE
Structural Engineer
October 2004 - present
PPiRB StalKon | Wrocław, DS
Construction - Industrial Facilities and Infrastructure
This job gave me a lot of experience and allowed to develop many skills.
I have been involved in:
• static analysis, based on an own FEM algorithm, of horizontally corrugated steel silos,
• project of a repeatable steel umbrella roof - calculations and drawings,
• stock-taking, renovation and rebuilding of an existing steel hall - calculations and drawings,
• project of a roof in an existing steel hall - calculations and drawings,
• project of a 96 m truss, being a roof-part of the production hall of the Airbus plant,
• project of a roof over the main spectator stand at a speedway stadium in Leszno - calculations,
• static and thermal analysis of an existing courthouse,
• calculation of load-capacity for existing steel halls,
• project of an integrated elevator shaft - calculations and drawings,
• project of a small retaining wall - calculations and drawings,
• load-capacity calculation for an existing wooden roof,
• thermal calculations of existing buildings,
• FEM numerical modeling of an existing monuments.
Additionally I have been responsible, in cooperation with other engineers, for many steel and concrete structures. My main duty has been to conduct stress analysis (linear and non-linear) using both commercial and own software.
Skills:
Preparing professional drawings, Static and dynamic analysis (linear and nonlinear), Thermal analysis, Solving construction and engineering problems,

Dissertation: Hellinger-Reissner functional in the static and dynamic analysis of flexible structures.
In this thesis was described a method of static and dynamic analysis of flexible structures. Presented models include cables, cable nets and membranes (with and without pretension). Equilibrium equations are written in a compact matrix form for statics and dynamics either. The approach to solution based on classic computer attitude (finite element method and matrix notation).
The common feature of described algorithms is consequent approach to solution which based on Hellinger-Reissner functional. The motion equations are obtained from Hamilton's principle, which potential energy in the form of presented functional is applied to. The arguments of Hellinger-Reissner functional are displacements and internal forces (differently from commonly used approach of Lagrange functional, which has only displacements as argument). This approach leads us to obtain solution for geometrically unstable models, what almost always is applied to flexible structures. Numerical solution refers to two basic methods: finite element method, and in the case of dynamic analysis to Runge-Kutta's IVth order method (chosen as a compromise between time of analysis and complication of algorithm). The difference between solution algorithms for simply supported cable, cable net and membrane is only in the way of building used matrices (the same functional and its shape, stationary conditions and software source code are used). For the negative Gaussian curvature models additional prestress applied to some of the edge elements, implemented as Lagrangian multipliers, does not change a lot in the way of coding own software nor in an idea of solution.
The studies were conducted in 3 years (in Polish education systems The PhD Studies should last 4 years) due to the good work organization and own ambitious.
