Conducted a detailed review of the client’s operational procedures and philosophies, comparing, measuring and evaluating them against the original study.
500kV Greenfield Projects:
Lead Procurement Advisor for a Greenfield 200-mile 500kV $1.2B transmission project construction contract. Worked with a multi-skilled and diverse team of 20 engineers, schedulers and operations personnel to procure all project materials, including inspection tours of lattice tower steel manufacturing facilities in India and Mexico.
Utility Procurement Improvement Projects:
As Project Lead, successfully negotiated contract award of $300M project with a Midwest utility with holdings valued in excess of $22B. Analyzed intended spend plan and developed appropriate-level sourcing strategies for a $56M electrical underground distribution contract, introduced alternative suppliers and contracting strategies. Successfully reduced delivery time by over a year for 2 of 4 - 865kV Main Unit Transformers worth $24.5M. The project also encompassed various facility contracts, including instrumentation and control systems for a new Flue Gas Desulphurization Units (FGD). As a result of these efforts the overall budget was reduced by approximately $3.5M (over 50% reduction). Researched and developed a fleet strategy for acquisition of new makeup feed water systems, thereby increasing plant reliability and performance.
Extra High Voltage Retrofit Assessment:
