To announce that being in the Engineering profession has been a privilege and a pleasure is an understatement. I have thoroughly enjoyed this chosen life experience and vocation. Automation, Electrical Power distribution, Instrumentation specification, System controls, Mechanical integrity and maintenance positions helped me work my way through college. Every step taken to acquire my skill and knowledge has been fulfilling and rewarding.
I have always strived to be a practical Project Engineer and Project Manager. That is to marry good engineering practice with prudent economic sensibility. ES&H, safety, Constructability, Operability, Maintainability is essential. The overall business model requires manufacturing, facility knowledge and understanding of the customer goals in order to develop a stable scope of work that will pave the way for, project success, reliability, and cost effectiveness. This is the business side of the effort and often the most delicate part of the puzzle.
Staying abreast of current changes in the engineering world helps give credence to creativity. Today many tools are available that help drive process equipment reliability and personnel safety. ETAP, LOPA, SIS, SIL, Alarm Management Systems, JSA audits as well as PHA and HAZOP studies have come a long way toward reinforcing the reliability and maintenance of critical equipment. Power redundancy, UPS, critical alarm management and smart control equipment are the backbone of our business.
My technical writing skills include; Project proposals, maintenance procedures, construction project execution plans, engineering and document control standards...OSHA, EPA, TCEQ and Coast Guard compliance issue mitigation. TWIC compliant.
Utilizing the diversity that is always present in the work place for positive results is central to leadership. Treating others with dignity and respect helps bring out their best potential and creativity.
I am always a good team mate and when needed I am an excellent leader. Over the years many people have mentored me and I find mentoring others to be rewarding.
Thank you for your consideration,

Georgia Power Company 1972 – 1976
Field Engineer
Installation and maintenance assignments division. This company used a seniority bid system for advancement. This usually included relocation to accept the new position. My first position was to work in a highline crew on high voltage transmission lines (38kv to 500kv). Next came distribution ( 15kv) ,later underground crews ( 15kv to 38kv), Substation maintenance dept which included some new system development work. Hatch nuclear plant in south Georgia was built by Bechtel , I worked there as an EIT for 2 years.
